The Pilzbar restaurant is located opposite the station wagon; about 100m from the Penkenbahn, outside the ski school meeting place. It's self-service. Good mountain food and your usual burgers and chips. There is a mushroom bar tent that is popular for apres, but be careful about the Penkenbahn closing at 5 pm. We used this place for most days skiing in the area. Only very convenient if you want to call it the day after late lunch or just a few runs on site without trace to Penken near the closing time. In terms of food, tiroler is excellent and cheap. Late lunch means they cook it fresh; and the pager buzzes you when it is finished. We also tried Currywurst, Schnitzel and Bratwurst. Germknö...
Ate and drank in here a few times whilst skiing in Mayrhofen. As with most cafes on the slopes seating is always at a premium but the views and cold beer make up for this. Food is reasonably priced and not the worst I've had and the music they blare out is some of the finest Euro pop I've heard in ages. Worth a stop for a drink en route back to your hotel.
Immer nett hier , wenn man öfters hinfährt wird man mit Handschlag begrüßt , familienfreundlich , gute Preise , auch sehr familiär —— groß genug um ein Plätzchen zu finden. Die Pilzbar die beste Bar im Skigebiet , Essen hervorragend , nett freundlich immer zuvorkommend . der Gast ist hier König. Ihr seid einfach Spitze!
After a long day of skiing, this is the place to be. Great music and service! If it is sunny outside then they open the roof so you are inside and getting a tan. Great atmosphere and beer!! If it is snowing outside than they close the roof so it is nice and warm. I highly recommend for great hangout place after skiing.

Die Jungs in der Pilzbar sind immer nett und zuvorkommend, Getränkepreise sind angemessen. Und wenn man nett fragt, bekommt man sogar Klebeband um die Skihose zu flicken! Vielen Dank Jungs!
