We hadn't been here for a little while - since our waitress' insistence that the cooking of the steak was as the chef wanted it, not how a 16 year old customer may have preferred it. It was a quiet Tuesday night in Torrens, with the three of us sharing the restaurant with three other tables. Eschewing the tasting plate of entrees, we all ordered separate dishes - scallops, tomato tart and duck rice paper rolls. The four scallops and the smoky sauce were excellent, as was the tart. The rolls, however, were disappointing - the vermicelli noodles were the unexpected hero of the dish, rather than the duck meat, which constituted a surprisingly sad proportion of the dish. Group of 6 of us met there for dinner last night. It had been a few years since I had been there.4 had entrees (3 had the scallops which were tender and flavoursome, the other had rice paper duck rolls which they enjoyed)Everyone enjoyed their mains (steak, chicken, salmon). This restaurant has a nice decor and friendly ambience. Staff were friendly enough and service was fine. Good menu selection, and great range of local wines to try. The food was well cooked, nice enough flavours and combinations. I have to say that my salmon was cooked perfectly. Serves were a bit on the small size, as my partner finished his lamb shoulder with just a couple of mouthfuls. It was an average experience, but just something seemed to be missing. Not sure if now we expect to be "wowed" everytime we dine out. It was full on the night we were there, and I did overhear another table of diners saying how much they loved this place. Maybe worth a try.
We ate here a few years ago & weren't that impressed (slow service & too much salt on their food).We gave them another go and was pleasantly surprised. The food was tasty. The salmon was a touch under cooked and the skin wasn't crispy but the steak was delicious. We had 3 courses and in all it was a nice dinner and they didn't charge a ridiculous price being Valentine's day.We will go back.Side note - my rating of 3 should be more like a 3.5

We love Pistachio, the food is always great and the menu changes with the season. Both the tasting plates are fantastic - 3 tastes of entrees, and 4 tastes of desserts, wonderful idea, especially when you can't make up your mind what you want. Can't wait to go back again. Does have a wine list but you can also BYO.
Just Feed Me Dave! That's the menu option you need that will give you the best value degustation in town. A nice selection of local wines and efficient adequate service.
A really lovely fancy little restaurantWe got the 'just feed me' option where they bring you four courses and it varies day to day what you get.
Enjoyed our visit back after a couple of years. Lovely suburban restaurant. Decore may need a bit of an uplift but the meal didn't disappoint.

Traveling to Canberra on business and some of our group members met the owner We came with a group of 14 for dinner.
What a great place to have a nice dinner! We had a 5 course meal at a modest price.
