Pizza Phil - Réserver une table

I recently spent several highly enjoyable visits to Pizza Phil’s with my friend, Jonathan, while on a cycling holiday. From the moment we sat at one of the outdoor tables, we were made to feel welcome when a smiling Philippa approached us with a menu and asked if we would like a drink. It was a hot, old day and it had been a hot, old cycle up Mont Ventoux, so we ordered lagers which were expertly pulled by Top Hat Phil and were brought out to us with a flourish by Philomena. Pizza Phil himself was in the kitchen and was being ably assisted by the relative newcomer to the Pizza Phil empire – Pizza Pip. Knowing that pizza making duties were in such safe hands, I opted for the Chorizo pizza, while Jonathan, rather recklessly, in my opinion – given that he could have had a pizza made by Pizza Phil himself – opted for the Burger Panini. I have to say though, that as soon as I saw Phillipa bring it out to us, I felt a hint of food envy – that is until I saw my pizza. There were no pints to be pulled or pizzas to be made while we were eating, so Top Hat Phil took the opportunity to have a lean out of the window whilst enjoying some quality, long draws from his vape pen and Pizza Phil made good use of the time by getting stuck into a couple of tabs at a nearby table. Anyway, back to the food – if you only have pizza in one pizza joint in Bédoin, make it Pizza Phil’s. On later visits, we were served by another newcomer to the Pizza Phil empire – Phelicity. She has a lot to learn to be up to the fine standards set by Philippa and Philomena, but under their tutelage, I have no doubt that she will emerge as one of the finest waiting staff in all of Provence. This will also provide further vindication of Pizza Phil’s policy – as if further vindication were needed – to only employ people with names beginning with “Ph”. On our final visit to Pizza Phil’s we noticed a tension between Pizza Phil and Philomena, with Pizza Phil even blanking his wife on one occasion and sitting at a different table while she was on a lager break and he was on a tab break, which was sad to see. There are rumours of a love triangle involving a cleaner from the Philippines, but those responsible for such scurrilous rumours should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. It’s a disgrace! Anyway, I hope one day to be lucky enough to return to Pizza Phil’s. Thank you to Pizza Phil, Philomena, Philippa, Top Hat Phil, Phelicity, Pizza Pip and the cleaner from the Philippines for the good food, good beers, good vibes, hygiene and fantastic memories!

We spotted Phil with his big hat while having an afternoon coffee in Bedoin and what a great find it was! Two of us had the steaks frites and two had pizzas all were delicious and the steaks were cooked perfectly. Finished off with puddings and beers and a great night all around.

This place will win no awards for best looking restaurant but it ticks every others box. Phil is a great host with and even greater hat and he will take good care of you. Food is basic but well cooked and served quickly.

Ate here before the triple ascent of Mt Ventoux the next day. Good Pizza and fair price. the ice Cream Desert was huge and excellent!

Phil wears a big hat. He serves pizza. The pizza is big and tasty. The beer is cold. You can park your bike easily. Enough said.
