Pizzeria des Platanes

This restaurant is a favourite of ours for a simple relaxed meal but I don't think we will return. I have left several star reviews for this restaurant previously but I was appalled last night when dining with friends at the failure to follow...basic hygiene laws and regulations. The Covid pandemic and the huge loss of life in France has caused the French Government to instigate a simple law regarding the wearing of facemasks in enclosed areas. This is the law NOT guidance. The ever excellent dark haired waiter, wore his mask all evening and is to be commended but both the owner and the female member of staff had it pulled down the vast majority of the time and the female member seemed to pull it down every time she spoke. Just really, really poor. This shows a total lack of respect and care for the customers and I was very disappointed. As a separate comment last night the pepper sauce with the steak was very poor and the Irish coffee far too sweet but the overall meal was quite good and the service good, just no hygiene standards.

On a cold, rainy night in January this was a wonderful haven of warmth and friendliness from the staff. We were lucky to get a table without a reservation as being Saturday night it was full by I had a pizza which was thin...and crispy, but found it odd that tinned mushrooms were used, nonetheless it was tasty. My husband had duck, perfectly cooked and good crispy fries. A very good Corbiers red wine was much enjoyed. Service was excellent and swift and yes, the manager speaks excellent English. It’s not haute cuisine, but doesn’t pretend to be, just good honest food. Recommend.

We have eaten here twice now in the past couple of weeks (and taken food away during lockdown). We have really enjoyed our experiences. The staff are friendly but efficient and the food, freshly prepared. We plumped for pizza every time, which was consistently delicious!...It was lovely to eat outside when we visited and the terrace was unexpectedly busy. Really happy to support local businesses in this tricky time, especially this one! Highly recommend.

We arrived without reservations as we had been recommended and told to be there by they were heavily booked but found us a table. We had a very enjoyable meal. The Caesar salad was excellent. My sister said her Pizza was the best she...had .tasted. Cost lovely surprise!

Like every year we come back and have diner in this restaurant. It's basic restaurant, but good engouh what you pay for. Very good Pizza, and very BIG salades. The speak also English, very friendly staff. PS very small toilet
