I am so disappointed and disgusted by the "modernize" etc comments. Yo, this is the CHARM of the place. You want "contemporary modern" or "oh heck I spent 30 grand on renos to look cool to the moron crowd" then go elsewhere. You get pretty darn good food, great service, and if you are more concerned that the "look and feel" isn't "modern" then look inside yourself. You're denying yourself a decent dining experience based on "look" and "feel". I for one prefer this rather than the hipster look and feel most seem they feel they have to go for. If I see a "man bun" I don't eat there.
We went there for breakfast. Easy you'd think. It seems that there is a local rule to only have two cups of coffee per person and if you want a little jam and peanut butter it is 40 cents a package...really!!Well, I had eggs and smoked meat. Tried it and it was a fail. My wife had eggs and bacon and she didn't like the eggs. Must be what the eggs were cooked in. Sure, for 3 people we (I) paid only $20 but it was a 20 that was wasted. Rating this place...it failed. Next time I go somewhere more "breakfast" oriented ;)
I ordered a large all dressed take out, thought that this place is out dated...isn't bad...been around for a while, so MUST be good....got home ..OUFF!!overcooked, had about 16 pieces of pepperoni, tasted the olive oil.. and tomato sauce..right...plain no flavor AT ALL...landed up putting lifting the dressing..which wasn't hard being overcooked. .CHUNCKS of peppers / mushrooms, added some salt on the crust...........boy was my ITALIAN husband and myself DISAPPOINTED!!
The food is traditional Mediterranean and Canadian fare that is served efficiently and is delicious while sure to to fill you up. Not a place to visit if you are calorie counting or looking for a candle light evening with your special other half. When ordering the House Special pizza ask for it to be cooked a little longer as the inside was once not completely done, due to the fact that it is one big honkin' thick discus of fantastic !

The decor is indeed dated (which you can see before you enter) but, the food is good. We go for the smoke meat and the souvlaki but, the pizzas seem to be popular too. This place seems to be busiest on the weekend for breakfasts. If you want something pretentious or upscale, this is not the place for you.
This place is dated.I asked twice for my food to be prepared a certain way. It wasn't. I was told that the cooks were advised but the cooks don't always listen to what they are told. Add some fingers going through my food to see if it was correctly prepared and I am not impressed.
That was a shocker, yes they have rye bread, yes they have a toaster - but they wont serve Rye Toast with breakfast. That was hard to understand, as were the undercooked bacon and potatoes that accompanied my eggs (without toast)

Pleasantly surprised by this place. The smoked meat was juicy and delicious. Very comparable to Schwartz's and the main. Worth the trip!
