This is the only place where I would happily pay $8 (for the Tuesday-Thursday special) for a pepperoni pizza, and also be willing to pay $17 for the same dish. They truly make the best pizza in the La Puente and West Covina area, far surpassing any chain pizza restaurant. It's all in the unique flavors of their sauce and dough. I've enjoyed their pizza, manicotti with meat sauce, and lasagna—definitely of better quality and with fresher ingredients than what you'd find at Macaroni Grill. The staff is wonderful, too! The restaurant is located between a Zumba studio and a 7-Eleven, in a somewhat rundown area that might look unappealing at first, but the quality of the food will pleasantly surp...
This restaurant was truly a hidden gem, and its closure is a significant loss. It has been operating for at least 50 years, serving amazing food in the same old strip mall since my childhood. Now, as a grandfather, I can't help but feel saddened by its disappearance. The same murals I admired as a child were still there, and I have countless cherished memories (and delicious meals) from Pompeii Restaurant. It's unfortunate that nothing great lasts forever, but this one came close. I was hoping to check in and find it still open, ready for me to revisit someday. It's genuinely disappointing. If anyone hears about it reopening, please let me know so I can return.
This restaurant is closed now, with alcohol violation notices posted on the windows. It's truly a sad day for me. I've been coming here for 40 years, and over that time, the quality of the food has steadily declined. It’s disappointing to see this place, which has been part of so many memories—from after West Covina high school football games and dates to introducing my wife and kids to this landmark—end up like this. It’s a shame for everyone who loved it. I’m sorry to see it go, and I blame the current owners for what’s happened. Now I’ll have to find somewhere else to eat; perhaps I’ll try Petrillo’s in Glendora.
Pompeii is open. and under new management.. It still has the BEST pizza around.. with REAL crust and toppings made frest .. I was saddened when it iclosed. but they are back.. my earlier review is now obsolete pompeii pizza is open. I was saddened and shocked to learn that after being an icon for so many years, I will never again be aable to experience their Mt. Vesuvius pizza or enjoy the comfortable atmosphere, excellent food, service and the conversation with the owner who made a point to make every customer feel special with a friendly smile and remembering your name even if you were not a regular....

This is a reliable American-Italian restaurant that offers more than just average fare. If you're seeking authentic Italian cuisine or freshly made pasta, you might want to look elsewhere. However, if you crave a comforting plate of classic American spaghetti, this place is perfect for you. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food, and they have a fantastic variety of pasta dishes. It's an excellent choice for a casual dinner or for families.
Disappointing experience! I would definitely recommend staying away. The service was poor, and I waited an eternity for my food. They even served me a dirty fork with my salad. My order was delayed by 20 minutes. It’s a shame, as this place used to be wonderful, but I won’t be returning.
I pass this place everyday on my drive home had no idea this place was a hidden gem! The pepperoni pizza was amazing. The dough was cooked to perfection. So much so I even ate the crust, which I never eat. The hot wings were also to die for. A West Covina hidden gem for sure
This place has world class pizza however the place has been closed for a week I hope it's not shut down they are the best and they have been there for ever

We went to celebrate a birthday. The prices are great, but you get what you pay for. We had the pizza, salad and spaghetti. The food was okay, not bad.
Great food and lots of memories, no matter the changes Pompeii Pizza will always have a place in my heart.
