We visited on Sunday for the Baja brunch and were impressed by the wide variety of food available, catering to picky eaters and those with dietary restrictions. I prefer whole foods, so I enjoyed options like nuts, different cheeses, fresh melons, berries, sliced meats, tri-tip, sausage, and shrimp with cocktail sauce. In addition, there was salmon, paella, eggs, pork loin, au gratin potatoes, ceviche, and more. I made sure to leave room for a fresh, crispy, buttery croissant and a homemade churro. The highlight of our visit was the staff—everyone was helpful, delightful, and pleasant. It might sound unusual to say, but I've sadly noticed that such friendliness is becoming rare these days.
We had the Sunday brunch which was excellent! They had a spread of cold items, salads, fresh fruits, and seafood... all delicious! The warm food was nice as well, though I did not love their paella. The best was their deserts.... the pastry chefs killed it! Probably the best Churros I have ever had! The service was excellent, and they had live music with a guitar player. The dining room is light and nicely decorated. The hotel grounds are very beautiful to take a walk around after eating.
I enjoyed a nice secluded table in a corner, which had its pros and cons. While I liked the ambiance, it was a bit too out of the way and felt overlooked at times. The seafood paella was excellent, featuring the sought-after socarrat, the crispy layer of rice at the bottom. It's rare to find that in paellas in the U.S., as many people consider it overcooked or burned. However, this dish had the socarrat, adding a delightful complexity to the flavors.
Nothing to write home about. Food should be much better. On service they get an “a”except when I asked for lemons and I saw the front of the house gentleman go from one kitchen, grab lemons in his bare hands and carry it in his fist to the open kitchen area put it in a plate and give it to me. Gross! If you are going to have an open kitchen then be clean. Breakfast is an A+

Food quality was mix. Fish was bland and no taste. The Paella was excellent. Somehow the quality of taste has degraded as I have been there many times. This time I took my kids for my birthday and hype it up and all were disappointed. At the end of dinner, kids wanted to go eat at TJ Tacos for some adobadas.
Another great time with Friends from Wisconsin. Everything was perfect from the Arepas and the grilled Scallops and Octopus through the sides of mushrooms and sweet potatoes. Although we were very full we opted for the Churros as a shared de desert for the 5 of us!
My husband and I came on our first date night after having our daughter and we were treated like celebrities! The food is unreal and the service is even better. We are so appreciative of the love and attention!
Our dinner at Ponto Lago was exceptional. From beginning to end, it was an absolute treat. Specifically, Alejandro was very knowledgeable and a fantastic host. We are certainly looking forward to returning!
