Portugalos - Réserver une table

I was told to go to this restaurant by a local grocery store owner in Ottawa — Mario’s Food Centre. He wasn’t wrong, the restaurant is very cozy and welcoming. The server was very friendly and helpful. They speak French, English and Portuguese. There’s three sections to this establishment. A patio section, a bar section and the restaurant. Btw, all my photos are from inside the restaurant part. I only gave it a 4/5 because all of our plates were a bit too salty for our taste. They have a full menu and a special fixed price menu. I went with the fixed price menu and there’s a lot of choices to order from. If you’re ever in Ottawa, it’s worth crossing the bridge into Gatineau to try this place...

Entered the restaurant and were greeted right away, offer to choose any table we like. A fresh linen table cloth was placed on the table. Our drinks were severed quickly and chilled to the perfect temp. We ordered several dishes Caldo Verde was very impressive so delicious. We had the chourizo sausage for an appetizer served in the little happy pig dish, with our soup. This is authentic Portuguese cuisine. Absolutely the best Peri Peri sauce I have ever tasted, FYI you can buy the sauce at the restaurant to take home. Portugalos is fantastic and very authentic. Honestly, it’s better than many restaurants in Portugal. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food is delicious. I had the meat variety dish and it was fantastic. The Portugalo coffee is so tasty. Like any good Portuguese restaurant, they have have olives for the table, but you do have to ask. The atmosphere is very pleasant and welcoming. The washrooms are well maintained and clean. Very upscale and very affordable. I will definitely be coming back.

My wife and I were searching for a Portuguese restaurant in the Ottawa/Gatineau area and found Portugalos. We were not disappointed. The food was fantastic and reminded us of traditional Portuguese cooking. The owner served us and was very pleasant. He was able to speak English and Portuguese (as we do not speak French). We would highly recommend this place and we would absolutely return if we were to ever come back to Ottawa/Gatineau. Muito obrigado Portugalos.

Wow! Fresh and delicious authentic Portuguese meals! We had the seafood “ship” for couples and I highly recommend it! They have hard working and amazing staff, and the owner is also very welcoming! We were in town for a show, but will return for sure!

Great dinner, good food, good people. There was an event so the place was too busy. Lattes were more like milky coffees but I think there was confusion on the latte, the egg tarts made well up for it!

A multilingual waiter, Thierry, with a great sense of humour , not pushy. A shy owner. Food excellent. Wine recommendation even better.. .Milagre Reserve Douro. Small and intimate place. Just perfect.

Great lunch! very delicious food. we shared a whole chicken between 3 people. Came with salad and fries. very recommended.
