I was impressed with the ambience of this restaurant, as well as the live music and the fact that they had Pokémon Go lures just outside. Most of the craft beers were good, although the stout went down quickly and the light beer I tried was not enjoyable. I forced myself to finish it out of stubbornness. I can't remember the name of the beer, sorry. My friend had a Lord Nelson, which was decent. The staff was friendly, and given that it was a busy Friday night at a pub, I won't fault them for being a bit slow. Calling this place a bistro is misleading, unless there's a hidden room I'm not aware of. Unfortunately, the vegetarian pizza was bland with canned olives, a soggy crust, and tasteless...

Pot Belly, Belconnen. These 40 year old places have been busting for the last three years. Plaka went in Mawson. It re-opened with a younger generation in Dickson. Con’s Steak & Seafood went in Mawson also, and it has been replaced by Greek-Australian Olive. Now Pot Belly is made over, and we hope it is a good omen that it is young people at the helm. I don’t care much for craft beers, but my friend does so we tried a few. Pot Belly has a nice selection and chills and serves them properly. Lunch from $12 is OK, but quality also counts. My fear for the place is that the owners won’t take themselves seriously as pub owners—good food to go with the beer. I’ll come back next month to see. A nice...
The Pot Belly has recently been taken over by new owners which have big plans in store for the place. Already they have gotten rid of the run of the mill beers and have installed craft beers which are constantly changing. At this stage no food is being offered but you are more than welcome to grab some takeaway from surrounding restaurants and eat it in the Pot whilst enjoying your beverage. The fireplace is always cranking which makes a perfect spot for the cold Canberra nights.
My hubby and I popped in for a quiet drink after work one day. Although there was only a couple of people there, it was warm and inviting. The bartender was friendly and recommended some Australian bourbon for my hubby. He was pleasantly surprised to find that it tasted good and ordered another! There are lots of places to sit and a wee beer garden out the back. Well worth a visit. Réservez une table maintenant
The only thing good about this place is the beer. Don't try the burgers. The southern fried chicken one was tasteless, and the beef burger didn't have the blue cheese as ordered, which was just as well, because it was extremely salty. Lucky we had a groupon voucher, or I would have been really upset.
The restaurant appears to be under new management. They offer a great selection of local craft beers and ciders. The food, particularly the chicken schnitzels and burgers, was delicious. The staff was friendly. I would definitely recommend this place for a relaxing beer and meal on the weekend.
Great layout, craft beers and ciders and the dart board is a fantastic idea. However, the food was very disappointing- bland and awful presentation that made you feel like you were back at school.
Everything a bar should be.....welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, good variety of drinks and food. Beer garden at the rear. Great for catching up with friends. Réservez une table maintenant
The beer is great, the staff friendly. A bit off the beaten track, but well worth the journey. I will definitely be coming back.
Always a cheerful and relaxed spot for a drink, with friendly bar staff and a good range of beers, craft and others.
