Unfortunately, after being a favorite of ours in the past, our recent visit post COVID was extremely disappointing. We had to wait a long time to receive menus outside, then waited again to place our order only to find out that several items we wanted were not available (such as salmon for the salmon and prawn salad). There was also no coleslaw available for any of the dishes, yet we were still charged full price. The portions sizes have significantly decreased - a "full salad" consisted of just one handful of salad and half a pot of prawns. The ham in the ploughman's platter was nothing special, just supermarket ham instead of the hand-carved thick slices it used to be. It was embarrassing...

Stopped for late lunch after a trip to the garden centre. Inside and outside seating areas. The table needed a clean and to have plates from previous guests removed. Young waitress was helpful in guiding how to order and took our order quickly. It wasn’t busy but we waited at least 20 minutes which considering it wasn’t busy at that time seemed too long. When asked about the delay the response was a little sharp. Despite this the food was really good when it came and a good sized portion hence my 4* review Maybe the staff were making the most of the lull in trade. I would recommend the food.

I had a fantastic experience at this tea room for afternoon tea. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating while also following Covid guidelines. The sandwiches were fresh and the cakes and scones were delicious. I was able to discuss dietary needs when I booked over the phone weeks prior and the staff checked in regularly to see if we needed anything. The tea room had a beautiful garden with a patio and lovely flowers. I would highly recommend this place.

Terrible let down- don’t bother trying to book. You send a message by text 3 days in advance to a number you cannot ring. That gets ignored. Went down there to see if they had got my order- nope and can’t do it as she’s busy today. It was for a birthday- let’s face it most of the orders are going to be for occasions- so totally let down. Not the way to run a business- ignore an order for 3 days and be unable to fulfill it. Was a regular customer- won’t be now Réservez une table maintenant

I have been to this restaurant a couple of times since Covid. The first time was for afternoon tea, which was excellent. The staff were very attentive and the food selection was great. The second visit was to the garden area. It was very busy, so it took a long time to place our order and for the food to arrive. We ended up spending an hour and a half just for a sandwich and cake. However, the cakes were delicious, especially the carrot cake.

Although we often drive past the garden centre, we have never used the tea rooms. They advertise their ice cream parlour , so on a hot afternoon we called in. Nice range of high quality ice creams, very friendly/helpful staff, decent outdoor seating area (it was just on their closing times, many places would say sorry you 're too late , here it was totally different). When came we go back !

Came here to visit nursery, but thought we’d have a little something to eat. Medium size tea room, plenty of seating, spaced out well. Outside seating is also available, but too cold and windy on day of visit. Wife had tea cake and cappuccino, whilst I had 2 poached eggs on Gluten Free toast. Total cost £11.50. Service was warm and friendly. Nice place to visit

Arrived without a booking, was given an empty table straight away, lots of space between tables, hand sanitiser as you enter. Really yum food and accommodating of my fussy 4 year old! Thank you!
