It was a Friday night, perfect weather for sitting outside. I made a reservation for 2 for outside. We were marched to a table INSIDE right next to the front door. No thanks. I had to chase the hostess back to the alley and say, I don 't want to sitinside, I made the reservation for outside. Green tank top with a brunette ponytail snapped at me saying, We don 't haveavailable tables outside!! Well, then I 'm not staying here. The nice girl standing next to her said, Oh yes, we do have atable . Great! We were seated at a table for 6 which was weird since it was so busy. I used to really like this place and am hoping they just had a really off night. I was surprised the waiters bussers were dressed as if they were going to the beach. I only saw thin tank tops, jean shorts and cargo pants. I understand it?s a hot daybut my goodness this place is really missing the mark by not enforcing a dress code or creating a dressing standard for thestaff. Anyways, we started off with the butter lettuce salad, which had a good dressing but really wasn?t anything special.Once we finished the first salad, we got our crispy duck spinach salad which was the MVP of the evening. One of the nicest outdoor spaces in the area to grab a drink, great food, and listen to some live music. The service is always outstanding. If you're looking for a light, bite, the cheese plates or charcuterie boards are a nice choice, perfect for sharing. For something more substantial, the pork belly tacos are fantastic- savory tender pork with a Korean barbecue glaze and kimchi. Shrimp and grits layer smoky shrimp over creamy , savory grits. The casual outdoor space and the lively bar make this a great place for a date or night out with friends.
We had a great time at Preservation! The outdoor seating is so fun and cute. It?s covered from the sun which is great but definitely still feel like you?re outdoors. The food was clean and tasted amazing! I took a star away because the charcuterieboards are really small portions and over priced for our liking. We loved the asparagus, Cubano, turkey sandwich, and desserts!And we would definitely go back to try other things on the menu! The drinks are fantastic as well! Overall a great experience! I'd go if I was invited but I wouldn't go here on my own accord unless I was looking to have drinks outside. Staff is really good, food is a hit or miss on taste (personally), cocktails have always been good and it has a nice atmosphere. I haverecommended it and I likely will again
