We celebrated a birthday dinner here last night with a group of seven. The place was bustling, but despite the crowd, the service was excellent, the food was incredible, and the atmosphere was outstanding. Although we don't live nearby, we will definitely return! It was undoubtedly one of the best meals we've had in a long time. The Longford lamb was particularly exceptional—huge portions that were tender and perfectly pink, practically falling off the bone! The menu provided so many options that it took us a while to decide what to order, and we look forward to coming back to try more dishes. The prices were quite reasonable as well!
I had an amazing dining experience with excellent service from the friendly staff. The Hereford beef dish was incredibly delicious, with a mouthwatering gravy served alongside bubble and squeak. I'm definitely looking forward to returning to try more dishes next time. The prices were also very reasonable; I've spent much more elsewhere for meals that weren't nearly as good. Another aspect I appreciated was the restaurant’s policy regarding children under 12; there’s nothing worse than having your meal disrupted by screaming kids. Overall, I can't wait to go back and sample more of their offerings!
I visited this restaurant for the first time today with my partner, and I ordered the meat trio from the Sunday midday menu. The price was very reasonable for what can only be described as the best roast I've ever had in a pub. It was incredibly delicious with generous portions! The staff were all very welcoming and friendly, and the decor created a lovely atmosphere. Additionally, children under 12 are not allowed, so you don’t have to worry about noisy distractions from neighboring tables. Overall, it was a fantastic experience!
that was my first visit. a relative who lives around the corner, said it was a good meal, so we booked a family table. it wasn't disappointed. her menu is not huge, (what I am happy) as some businesses fail while they try to do too much. a selection of six to start. the Steak-Ale-Pie is the largest I have seen, I had stuffed and the light desserts compliment the plentiful net. the personal who was attentive and professional at night, and the low lighting and decor adds to the warm atmosphere.

This restaurant offers fantastic food and has a very friendly staff. I've been here before and will definitely be returning. The lunchtime menu features a wide variety of options and is a great value. Everyone in Gloucester knows it's one of the best places to eat. Price per person: £10–20. Food: 5/5. Service: 5/5. Atmosphere: 5/5. Highly recommended dishes include the Steak and Stilton Pie and the Longford Lamb Shank.
The go to place for guaranteed quality food. Front of house staff really look after you. We've had so many family meals here and have never been let down. If you want great atmosphere, great food and be made to feel welcome then this is the place to go. Look forward to many more visits.
I drove over an hour just to have the famous Longford lamb. Third time that I did this and it did not disappoint. Price wise the food is not cheap but it's worth it. Drinks are reasonably priced. I recommend it.
The Sunday lunch at The Queens Head I'd sensational It can be a bit longer for service when they're busy... but they're busy and that's a great sign. The Lonford Lamb is pretty damn good!

We just had an amazing Sunday roast here. Great food, big portions. And the Banoffee was epic !! Great service and will definitely be coming back.
Highly recommend the food was delicious could not fault anything and the service was top class was a lovely day out
