We 've just had the most wonderful meal at The Rainbow Inn in Allsley, near coventry. In all honesty this was one of the best roast dinners we 've had (sorry mum! and not only that, it was entirely gluten free. My daughter is a coeliac and eating out becomes a stressful affair at times. Ive never felt so safe taking her to eat somewhere. The marvellous chef, Chef Jon, is a credit to The Rainbow Inn and serves a fully gluten free Sunday menu complete with childrens options. Everything gluten free. My husband opted for gammon and said it was the nicest hed ever had. It melted in the mouth. The yorkshires were enormous, the apricot stuffing was a dream. I had roast beef and couldnt fault anythi...

What can I say, Michelle and her team were incredible hosts tonight for their first ever Friday Fish and Chip supper night. On arrival I was made to feel very welcome, the pub was warm and inviting and a newly decorated restaurant made me feel at home. A wonderful atmosphere lay within the pub and was bought to life by its friendly locals and busy/ lively well laid out restaurant. Tonight I had the large fresh haddock (which was cooked to perfection), the fish was beautifully white in a lite crisp batter, served with homemade chips, mushy peas and freshly made sour bread. The food was very well presented and served piping hot. All was washed down with a stunning pint of London pride. I will...

One of the most tasty, home cooked Sunday Roasts to be found in Coventry. All of the food, including home made cranberry sauce, was beautifully cooked and tasted amazing. Locally bought meats, friendly pub atmosphere and roaring log fires couldn't fault it. We rebooked before leaving. Casual, family and dog friendly pub. Perfect for winter Sundays. Prices: Main roast £18 £20. Starters and puddings £6 approx. Vegan options and entire menu GF. Hats off to the new landlady Michelle who has completely turned the pub around over the last 12mths. Compliments to John the Chef.

There has been a change of landlord recently and promises of changes have been short lived. The previous landlord often ran out of beer, brewery failed to deliver, Co2 gas, brewery failed to deliver, failed to open because of staff rota mixup. For three weeks all seem well unti suddenly Bank Holiday weeken they ran out of beer. Should be renamed The corousell, the game of chance, Will they or won't they Réservez une table maintenant

Dog friendly and really lovely pies. The ploughman’s was a work of art! Service was a bit slow but we were not in a rush. The dog enjoyed the visit- would have been useful if the staff had pointed out the dog bowls for water outside back door. Definitely worth a visit and we hope they do well.

Fish and chip Friday, and Sunday roasts. Have tried both and they are excellent. The roast beef in particular is melt-in-the-mouth delicious. Nice starters and desserts. All good from start to finish. Ignore nearly all the old photos which are now irrelevant since the pub has been taken over.
