What can I add that hasn't already been said? This is definitely my favorite place in town to relax, do some work, enjoy a wonderful cup of coffee or tea, and savor a delicious meal prepared by incredibly talented chefs. The staff is consistently friendly and welcoming, and I'm proud to call many of them my friends now. The music is always great, the exposed brick decor and warm lighting create a soothing atmosphere, and the artwork on the walls is consistently impressive. And let’s talk about the food! The café offers almond milk and soy milk for beverages. Their chocolate sauce is dairy-free, making it possible to enjoy a vegan hot chocolate! It's not overly rich, but still a satisfying choice. I didn't sample the treats, but they had vegan Twix, date squares, and hay fever bars. Additionally, there are several vegan options on the menu, including sandwiches and a smoothie bowl.
Phenomenal coffee, well presented with cute latte art. Ordered the avocado on toast which only runs at $8 and was blown away at how good it was (perfect poached egg, tomato, avocado and pickled onion over two pieces of sourdough toast). Well worth a visit for food or just a coffee. Staff were great too and the space is very welcoming.
The maple syrup was actually decent, but the tofu scramble had a strange flavor that was not appealing at all. My husband and I both enjoy tofu scrambles, but they added something that made it undesirable. The potatoes were bland and lacked flavor as well. Overall, we were quite disappointed. My favorite place for delicious food, fantastic hot and cold drinks, a laid-back atmosphere, and outstanding baristas and chefs. I highly recommend that both locals and visitors who haven't yet tried Receiver make a point to stop by and experience what a wonderful spot it is for themselves.
