The restaurant is quite convenient and reasonably fast, located right at the entrance of the Huntington Library. There's some indoor seating as well as more outdoor options. However, I had a negative experience when I ordered ice cream in a waffle cone (along with other items). The employee handed me the cone without wrapping it in a napkin or paper, which felt unsanitary, especially since he was also working at the register. I’ve never received an ice cream cone like that before, and it was off-putting. On the positive side, the staff was friendly, though not very attentive. I tried the cookie monster and lemon-flavored ice creams, and both were decent. I might choose something different if...
Red Car is a quaint little coffee shop, quite small inside but with a nice-sized patio for outdoor seating. They had two types of scones available, but I can't recall what they were, and I didn't take a picture. My friend ended up buying both types, although I didn't notice the price and didn't buy anything for myself. To be honest, I felt a bit out of it, even though I was physically present—maybe I was just too hungry and eager to leave, haha!
Nonetheless, this coffee shop offers a nice spot for members to enjoy a coffee or drink before or after visiting the library. I often see many people sitting on the patio, enjoying their drinks and chatting away. It's truly a lovely place to relax!
The restaurant is situated in a stunning location at the Huntington Library, one of my favorite places. The coffee is quite good, and there are plenty of delicious treats to choose from, including gelato, croissants, and various pastries. Everything tastes great. However, I deducted one star due to the frustratingly inconsistent pricing. For example, why is a quality artisanal cheese and berry Danish priced at $6 while a basic croissant costs $7? Coffee is around the average $4, which is understandable given the venue. I appreciate that they need to charge more for such a lovely setting, but the pricing of certain items felt a bit disrespectful to my intelligence.
Exceptional service! The staff here are incredibly kind, friendly, and attentive. This charming little café has a fantastic selection of espresso drinks, teas, exquisite pastries, healthy salads, Fosselman's Ice Cream, cookies, delicious sandwiches, tasty snacks, sweet scones, bagels, and muffins for takeout if you're interested! The café also offers lovely seating both indoors and outdoors, making it a great spot to relax before exploring the Huntington Gardens. While the prices for their food and drinks can be on the higher side, I will definitely return to support them when I'm in San Marino. Thank you all for everything! I wholeheartedly give them five stars!

The service was outstanding! The person taking my order was friendly, patient, and happy to answer my questions. I also noticed he recognized a few regulars, which speaks to the welcoming atmosphere.
The coffee was excellent! I ordered an Americano, and it was prepared quickly and perfectly. The decor is inviting, and there’s plenty of seating to unwind after exploring the gardens and museum. I definitely recommend stopping by for a drink or gelato on your way in or out!
During our trip to the Huntington Library, my friends and I stopped for a quick coffee and snack. Usually, eateries near parks and tourist attractions are overpriced and offer mediocre quality. However, this place pleasantly surprised us with its outstanding flavors, even though the prices were comparable to average park dining. The pastries, especially the chocolate croissant, were absolutely delightful.
