Refuge de Mayen

Very nice place to take a break while snowboarding. The only thing is if you are here, you cannot go back to the slopes of Berneuse, you need to go down to the lower parts of the region and back with the ski lift. Normally this is not a problem, but this week it was too warm so the snow on the lower parts was very bad. We want to stay, the rest of the week on the higher parts and food no longer come here.

We a had a cup of coffee in Refuge de Mayen while hiking in the mountains. Service was very friendly and the scenery from the terrace was unbelievable. Next time when hiking in the mountains (or skiing, bicycling... , take a break and have some refreshments. You will not regret it. They even serve fondue.

We were visiting the place with friends who lives in Leysan. Don't think we were visiting it without them to navigate. Lovely hospitality and service, beautiful views and good local food. a lovely afternoon...

While hiking down the mountain toward Leysin, Switzerland we came upon this little restaurant at just the right time. We were starving. We had the Mayen Croque and the cheese platter. Both were delicious!

That dish with egg, ham, bread, milk, cheese.. wish i could remember the name but have it everytime. Great place to visit while skiing.
