Reith-Alpe Schwangau

We went to this restaurant in April when all the trails were still snowy and there was not much to do. The restaurant and the area had a great view. It was all you would expect from a mountain lodge restaurant. German food and views. The waiter prepared something to eat. We saw him pick up the fresh vegetables and cut them for the salad. The food was good. They had some German hats made for funny pictures. WARNING: If you are susceptible to altitude sickness, don't drink beer! I love drinking a German beer with my lunch, but for a few minutes when the alcohol came in, it was reconciled. The height is not too high, but I found that the combination of height and alcohol is not a good mix. I think only cash.

Absolutely loved this little pub in the woods. Away from the massive crowds, you can have a drink and a snack on your way to the cable car. Enjoy your drink on your deck while you see both castles from a distance. We killed TWiCE here that we loved the atmosphere so much. Although employees don't speak fluent English, we just have good with Google translators. This is obviously a fave local hangout, as all cartridges were German friends and knew each other. The staff is pleasant and hard workers! And we paid HALF for winemakers we paid in downtown Hohenschwangau. Cheap!

Worth making a trip up the mountain! Just stayed near the summit after admiring the views not only across the plain to Forgensee, but the Alps behind. Enjoyed a gluhwein(! but there are plenty of walking paths.

We came to this place because of the good comments. But we were not welcome at all. No one wanted to speak with us and to serve us. We left after a moment and did not eat/drink nothing

toboggan and cable car rides were fantastic, only downside to this onsite restaurant was the cash only and limited menu choices...
