Sans aucun doute le meilleur restaurant de Gatineau/Ottawa! Nous y allons régulièrement , meme que l'on se retient pour ne pas y aller plus souvent! Une nourriture aux saveurs authentiques. Un petit restaurant chaleureux avec une ambiance typiquement péruvienne. Une entreprise familiale qui nous offre des repas fait avec passion et qui a la fierté de nous faire connaitre la gastronomie mondialement réputé du Pérou. Nous y allons en moyenne une fois par semaine depuis quelques années et nous n'avons jamais été déçu des repas qui nous ont été servi. C'était ma deuxième visite à ce petit resto typiquement péruvien situé à quelques pas derrière la bibliothèque d'Aylmer. Mon amoureux et moi avons partagé un ceviche (poisson mariné dans le jus de lime accompagné d'oignons, de maïs à l'étuvée et de patate douce) et une jalea (généreuse portion de crevettes, calmar, poisson et yuca frits accompagné de deux sauces délicieuses). Le décor et la musique nous transportent directement au Pérou. Le service est courtois et attentionné, mais je dirais plus réservé ou timide qu'un service habituel (en espagnol ou en anglais seulement). First at all if you haven't tried Peruvian food you have no idea what you have been missing. I agree with other reviews that the place (both inside/outside) may not look fancy, but don't get biased on this aesthetic element as the beauty of this place is the amazing dishes and excellent service and all for the right price. Amazonas has become my best favourite restaurant in the Ottawa/Gatineau region and it is so worthy to drive to Aylmer every time. You won't be disappointed with anything from the menu. My favourites include: Causa, Empanadas, Ceviche, Lomo Saltado, Chaufa rice and of course you cannot miss the popular Pisco Sour cocktail.
This restaurant is just amazing. Besides the excellent food, the owner Segundo, invited us to stay even though it was almost closing time. It was a very generous offer especially on a Sunday when I'm sure they would have liked to go home early. This was my first time trying Peruvian food (and lamb) and I was really impressed. Besides the wonderful combination of tastes, textures and colours, the food left you with satisfied without a feeling of heaviness or after tastes. Excellent!!!
Best restaurant in town! The food is outstanding and a beautiful alternative to conventional Canadian food. The prices are amazing for this home cooked culinary treasure lovely people and a great place to bring children. The best is the ALL you can eat BUFFET every last Sunday of the month this just lets you try everything else : Includes a nice terrace ! We'll be back soon!
We really adore this charming restaurant in the neighborhood. There are no fake facades or tricks; just tasty, fresh, and flavorful Peruvian dishes. The service is quick and friendly, and the portion sizes are generous. If you have the chance, try the buffet. You won't be disappointed. This place is a hidden gem in the community.
