In the Killesberg Park on the upper level near the Aussichtsturm. We stopped here for lunch during our Hop-On-Hop-Off bus tour. The service was average, though the staff were pleasant when they attended us. The food was excellent. The Cheese Spaetzle was a huge portion...and very delicious. I have been there with my boyfriend in lunchtime to have a little break. When we entered in the local, the woman at the desk asked for what we wanted and when we said that we would have liked to have just something to drink...in a hurry, she invited us to go out and wait for her... But after minutes no one has come. After that, another girl asked in a rude way what we were waiting for, then she gave us the menu for food and not for what we were looking for. We went away.
Really by accident we have found this restaurant after we walked around in the surrounding park Killesberg. Don't expect haute cuisine, but honest German food (schnitzel), salads, but also vegetarian options. Price/quality is good Also the second time we went there after a long trip...because we knew already where to find it, and didn't get disappointed (We visited Stuttgart twice as a stop on our journey)

Enjoyed a few glasses of wine with bread and cheese It was a good place to relax While I'm still not a huge fan of German...wine, I enjoyed sampling them. Server spoke English, which helped me out. Best part is the wines were half price. Not sure if it was happy hour, but it was a pleasant surprise.

Just a few meters from tennis event there is a great park called Hohen, with its restaurant Hohencafe. Enjoy the silence and views.
