Unser erster Eindruck vom Gastwirt war nicht gerade der Beste. Etwas brummig und wortkarg kam er uns vor. Auf die Frage nach der Speisekarte bekamen wir die Antwort, dass es heute nur ein Gericht gebe, was vielleicht auch daran lag, dass es nur etwa 12 Gäste gab, das Restaurant also fast leer war und somit die Motivation nicht allzu gross war, die ganze Vielfalt der Küche zu präsentieren. Da wir nun mal da waren (wir waren 6 Personen) und an diesem Tag auch kaum ein anderes Restaurant offen war, entschlossen wir uns dennoch zu bleiben. From the outside the restaurant looked rather tempting: a large wooden chalet, directly across the bus stop "Champex-Lac" and a few steps from the scenic mountain lake.Unfortunately my lunch was a bit disappointing. The waitress was very cold at the beginning, then polite enough but not overly friendly.As starter I chose the salad with warm goat cheese: generous portion but average quality. The carrot stripes looked dry and old!The main course was better. The entrecote served on a sizzling stone was tender, accompanied by a delicious garlic butter. Wir waren zum zweiten Mal im Belvedere, und zwar nur wegen der schönen Aussicht. Draußen standen Tische und Stühle mit Fellen und Decken, so dass wir dachten, dass man draußen essen könne. Nachdem nach einer halben Stunde niemand gekommen war, obwohl man uns von drinnen gesehen hatte, fragten wir drinnen, ob man uns denn bedienen wolle. Darauf kam die mürrische Antwort, dass man nur drinnen essen bekäme. Letztes Jahr durften wir draußen sitzen, bekamen aber dort nur etwas zu trinken. Beide Male waren nicht viele Gäste drinnen, so dass wir nicht verstehen, warum man sich nicht die Mühe machen möchte, bei bestem Wetter draußen Gäste zu bedienen. Zudem sollte man dann nicht den Eindruck erwecke...
Normally I would write a review later but I've just had most probably the best lamb ever! My wife had the trout with green salad and her comment was... "Soooo Good!!! Our waitress is so lovely and tries her best to converse in English to make our meal the best experience. This is our second visit within our week's holiday here at Champex. A definite visit is required!
le patron est un cas typiquement valaisan au caractère trempé et une tronche certaine. Mais quand il est de bonne il vous prépare des mets typiques super. La salle à manger qui donne sur une vue de la vallée sublime comme sa terrasse incontournable en été.Il faut s'y arrêter pour une assiette valaisanne! Un endroit plein de romantisme valaisan.

De passage a Champex lac , nous nous promenons dans le village.. on arrive devant cet établissement est remarquons que c'est le jour de fermeture ( mercredi ) .. on admire le paysage autour de l'établissement et là le patron sort nous dire bonjour et nous dis que pour un café on peut venir .. très accueillant et sympathique !
