Restaurant Le Morgan

We ate here twice during the last month, both times for dinner. Le Morgan only accepts cash and is a one-man show where very little English is spoken but that does not prevent good communication with a most enthusiastic host. The food is very...good and of the home cooking style and it hit the spot exactly, as it has on two previous visits over years or so. On our visit we had starters of eggs, interestingly poached in red wine, and a very large mixed salad. My wife so much enjoyed the roast duck on the first visit that she chose it again on the second. I can confirm that it was excellent, as was the boeuf bourguignan. The chocolate dessert was a hit as was the cheeseboard. Wines are largely local and not particularly cheap but we had a pichet which was very palatable and good value. Quite how the chef/owner does everything without being slow to serve is beyond me. Very impressive. Opens for lunch and dinner but not on Mondays. If you are looking for good meal in a nice atmosphere that will not break the bank, this is the place to go in Savigny.

We were staying in Savigny-les-bueane and were looking for somewhere to have dinner. Amusingly we followed another set of diners around the village looking at menus and nothing appealing. The final place they stopped at was here and they went in. The menu sounded good...and the prices were surprisingly very reasonable so we also went in. We're so glad we did. This place is literally run by one man. What a legend! He took the orders, made the drinks and waited on us all. The service wasn't perfect but he was as attentive as he possibly could have been so how could anyone mind?! The food was fantastic, really, really excellent and we had courses without meaning to. I had the jambon terrine, chicken and then the melon with basil. Yum. It's definitely worth a visit just to see how amazing this guy is (although I would be worried that he is on the way to a heart attack working that hard so I do hope he gets some down time

We had a lunch in Le Morgan in February, It was Saturday, village seems deserted and mainly all places were closed. We found this place occasionally. We were only clients during all lunch time. Welcome was kind, a man who welcomed us, directed us...to a table and brought menus. He seems rather happy. After the collecting our orders, man goes to kitchen and started cooking. Than we understood, that he was one and only person at work in this restaurant. Food was really good. Not high-end, more like homemade, but quality and delicious. My wife had salad with goat cheese. It was really big and enough for one person to eat lunch. Ordered by me eggs, sauteed in red wine and beef as main dish were also delicious and we were absolutely satisfied. We don't take dessert, but cheese plate. Also same very good choice of cheeses with explanations from our waiter-cook. I recommend this place to have a lunch no problem!

This little restaurant is just great. The owner is super friendly and responsive. Excellent range of food and all VERY TASTY. Escargots and the beef, all freshly made. Quick service, wonderful wines and all at moderate prices. Even our dog was best taken care. This...is place where I’d love to come back
