We reserved a table at 6.30pm for 7.30pm. We arrived and they had no reservation. We sat at the table for 15 minutes before any sign of service. Eventually my partner went to get the wine himself. We asked for bread. It didn't come so we went to fetch it. I ordered Steak Tartare which was a good choice as they hadn't had to cook it. My partner ordered Pot au Feu which could only be described as seriously disappointing for an extaordinate price of £40. A couple of marrow bones floating in tasteless broth with a couple of tasteless carrots and boiled potatoes. No flavour whatsoever. We relucantly paid the bill and had the next course at another restaurant.

Atmosphere is a little bleak and the restaurant was almost empty when we went for dinner during peak ski season. They offer a very small selection with little (other than cheese) for vegetarians or those who like vegetables. But that is more or less how it goes in Verbier. The food was not bad if you stick to the meats and limited Swiss basics. I would not recommend the cheese croute, however. It was essentially almost burnt bread topped with a sea of molten cheese - not for those prone to heartburn! The wine list was not bad and the place has potential but they seem to be struggling.
