Restaurant Le Sauvignon

We chose this restaurant on the combined basis of Tripadvisor reviews and the menu choices. We could have gone with the $19.95 5-7 special, which had decent variety, but I'm always on the lookout for a good "ris de veau" so chose that instead. Absolutely divine, with a lovely smokiness conferred by the Morel mushrooms. My husband chose the boeuf tartare, a whole half-pound of it prepared to one's taste at the table. The starters (homemade soup, beef carpaccio) were great too, and the bowl of marinated olives set on the table to enjoy while perusing the menu got gobbled up mighty fast.Interesting concept for the wine; one makes a trip down to the cellar to choose among the bottles. Were there for dinner on September 18 with a couple of friends from Montreal.We all took the Table d'hote and selected 2 very good wine bottle from their cellier.Every dish was generous, appetizing, served hot, and exquisite. The duck, veal and cod were cooked to perfection and served with vegetables nicely presented. The bread is very good and so are the desserts. The service is also excellent and friendly.We enjoyed very much our evening and no doubt will be back again and again.I would however recommend to the owners that the decor must soon be updated (pink tablecloth, etc.)

We found this restaurant amazing. The menu had far more options than you normally find in a nice restaurant. We both thought we would go out for a nice steak dinner, but when we saw the menu, my wife had duck and I had walleye (dore). Both were superb. The lady who looked after us was very helpful and friendly. And I thought the price was very reasonable for the delicious dinners we had.

Restaurant and menu are out-dated.Restaurant decor looks like retirement home. Very expensive for what you get. Food is ordinary. Maybe tourist loves it but as a local you can get a lot more for the price. I ordered a cappuccino and received a regular coffee with whip cream and they charged 5.95$ for it. I wonder how a French restaurant can serve that.

We went there for dinner tonight. The food was ok but I found it overpriced for what it was. We ordered the beef for two which I wish I'd been told was a tougher cut of beef. The atmosphere was nice and relaxing but our server, an older lady, was not very friendly. It wasn't a terrible experience and for the most part we were satisfied with our food.

This is our go to place to eat fine cuisine in St-Sauveur. It is an owner/Chef restaurant and the food, service and atmosphere is wonderful. We just ate here recently and the food was exquisite. And the price is not expensive for the quality of the meal. This is a hidden gem dining experience!!

The food here is truly excellent and the delivery of the food superb! The lamb was delicate and cooked to perfection, the petoncles were aromatic and cooked to perfection, the salmon was sublime and the riz de veau as i had remembered.

The food is excellent and so is the service. It is also extremely good value for the quality of the food. It is a couple that owns it...he serves and knows a great deal about wine and she is the chef. A delightful experience.

We stopped by for a quick bite to eat and a drink. We found a very interesting menu and selected some appetizers. The service was friendly and quick. The food was well presented and tasty.

My husband and I both had the frog legs. They were amazing. We had the house wine and both the red & white were very nice. I would highly recommend this for a nice dinner.
