Restaurant Oban Inn

Finding a good restaurant in Niagara on the Lake isn't hard. A lot of them are more upscale than those you'd find in a typical tourist town, but Niagara on the Lake is unlike a lot of tourist towns. Located just a couple blocks east of the main Niagara on the Lake district is a small Inn with a quaint restaurant. Highly recommended to make reservations because I do not think they take walk-ins. We went at 5pm for an early dinner and was done around 6:30. We were seated right in front of a lovely small garden view. We finished nine holes of golf at the NOTL Golf Club and walked across the street to the Oban Inn for lunch. We had heard good things about Karrie Galvin, the recently hired executive chef. The luncheon menu provided a serious challenge to figure out what to order. All of the dishes looked very attractive. We made our choices and were not disappointed. The fish tacos were excellent, and the burger was delicious. But the nicest surprise was my Southern Fried Chicken, served on a cedar plank with pickled peppers and home fries. We enjoyed a pre-theatre dinner at the Oban Inn, and it was excellent! The menu offered options for many tastes, including vegetarian. The appetizer salad was large enough to share, and the entrees were superb! The lavender creme brulee was light and flavourful, without being overpowered by lavender. Excellent venue!

There are so many restaurants to choose from in Niagara-on-the-lake - why pay for over-priced menu items that can be easily matched for 1/2 price most places in town? Service was fine, but not worth the cost of a meal. Head across the street to golf course and have wonderful lake perch and enjoy the view of the lake. Réservez une table maintenant

Very nice dining room with really nice staff. We were 6 for dinner and arrived at 5:30 so we would have plenty of time to get to the theatre for an 8pm show.........and we left at 7:30 and had plenty of time. I had a a delicious soup then chicken and gnocci. We were here last year too and very much like it.

We went to the Oban Inn for lunch and did not disappoint. Sat in the tavern room which was very nice although we would have preferred to sit in sunroom overlooking the gardens. Salads were very good and the martinis were exceptional Nice service from Macy.

We stopped for lunch while on a wine tour. Nice variety on the menu. We were seated next to the windows looking out at the gardens. Food was very good in an inviting setting.

The Oban Inn is fine dining: Tablecloths, real silverware, ceramic dishes. The food is upscale, but pricey. The staff courteous. Réservez une table maintenant

Enjoyed the meal, room is small, but very pleasant, be sure to ask for a window location with reservation. Will not disappoint.

Enjoyed our dinner here. Food great, beautiful dining room with view of garden. In a gorgeous neighborhood.
