Restaurant zur Sonne AG Winterthur

My girlfriend and I came here in on 4th August—a quiet Tuesday evening. This charming Swiss restaurant is next to the high street in Winterthur. If this were an examination, the Zur Sonne restaurant would have passed with flying colours (they did everything by the book). Tasty, well spiced and well cooked Swiss food served with Swiss efficiency. The ingredients were fresh and the meat dishes were cooked from real stock. TIP: this would be the perfect place to bring tourists eager to try authentic Swiss cuisine

It was a quiet night but I'm sure it's more uplifting on a busy night . Anyway, the fondue was grand, especially the one with boletes in it. Wine was so so but went for something simple. All in all, it was good and would eat here again. Service was good, they kindly didn't seem to mind too much that we only speak English, thanks for that

The food had a little too little salt, otherwise it was good. The waiter was very unfriendly after we sat down and claimed that all tables were reserved but for once we were allowed to stay; After 2 hours when we left there were at least 3 tables unoccupied, so everything was reserved and really crowded

First evening in Switzerland we have been here... The historical oven is a very nice. A very nice place for tasting some traditional suisse food. Fondue, raclette, rosti... Everything very tasty!

I had to pay 9 CHF for a side salad (leaf lettuce). 39 CHF for a small entrecote plus 9 CHF for the side salad. Service is very unfriendly.
