The food was excellent, but there were some issues with the service. Even though our order was taken promptly after we were seated, it took a while to receive our drinks. I ended up pouring water for myself and my dining companion from a pitcher on the table. The food also took longer than expected to be served. I understand that the restaurant may have been busy, but I have never waited so long for a drink. I would have been satisfied with just a glass of water while we waited, but after asking twice, I decided to give up.
had opened excellent meals in ria years ago. the new owner has no idea what comes from the kitchen, nor seems to care. instead stands on the entrance like a crow when it should be in the kitchen guaranteed quality control. the slowly boiled lamb was underboiled. the normally excellent pistachio, pear and cos-Latetuce salad had no pistachios and browned edges on the salate. the champagne was good as the chardonnay. fortunately, we had a discount voucher and they have docked the price of the salat from the bill.
Ria Malay Kitchen has been one of our favourites over the years-consistently excellent food at a very fair price. With that in mind we ordered a take away on Saturday night-wanting to support our locals. Not sure if the restaurant has changed hands but what a massive disappointment. A seafood dish that was all sauce and very little seafood for and a beef dish for that was again hugely overpriced. We really felt ripped off. Will not be going back-pity.
DINNER AMBIENCE Good atmosphere as it is usually full or will get full by the time your food comes out. Service is always good and naturally lags a little as the night gets busy. FOOD The dishes are packed full of flavour that leaving your tastebuds wanting more and your top button needing to be undone. RECOMMEND Chinese Shredded Beef, Rendang Derlagi-lagi, Almond Chicken Korma

ria malay kitchen has been in leederville for many years and has expanded in running the years to a very well protected joint at the main strip of leederville. once we chose to start the pig-nibbles. beautiful mini ribs in a gooey sweet and sour sauce – they were more addictive and we ate them hungry. it would have been good to have a few finger bowls or wet towels afterwards.
This place was ok , not sure if we would go back. All dishes we ordered for dinner was tasty but serving size were on the small side. Service was friendly however could be more attentive and more accessible Plenty of other Malaysian choices in Perth that are less pretentious and more satisfying for the stomach and wallet.
This restaurant offers quality Malay cuisine in a more upscale setting than typical Malay restaurants. It's the perfect spot for introducing someone unfamiliar with Malay cuisine. The ambiance is a bit more upscale and the food is consistently delicious. Great for those looking for a different Asian dining experience.
The food at this restaurant is decent, but our experience was greatly disappointed by the noisy environment, strange staff, and the scam of continuously bringing out small bowls of rice that added a hefty charge to our bill. We felt ripped off paying for plain boiled rice. We will not be returning.

eating here is really delicious! we tried the rendang and the Kway-Teow and were blown away from the aromen. the presentation is also top notch.
