so it was on Saturday night, the live band was great, but I feel that the volume was so loud for such a small venue. the music comes from the walls so bad you can not hear yourself talking at all. it's like yours at a concert, don't get me wrong, I'm going to go to many heavy rock concerts, but if you're screaming, talking or telling the waitress what you want to drink five times, I feel like it's too loud. it would be much better a little less so loud would be so much more pleasant. also there were only two waitresses, so our drinks were always empty for quite sometime. like a good 45 min. into the bar two barkeepers. the place brings a lot without doubt, I would have to run back or before...
I’ve been in Chicago for 4 hours, first time here. Booked a hotel near the airport. Went to the closest bar and they were closin down and they recommended Richie’s. We walked in and were instantly home. Found a spot on the back side of the bar and were served quickly. Halfway through the first beer Rich, the owner, came and sat with us and instantly bought us a shot. We stayed for hours while trading stories (mostly of NBA basketball as I’m a HUGE Utah jazz fan). Great bar, will go back in the morning before my flight and grub. Rich made us feel like family. Never thought I’d find southern hospitality this far north???
don't give 5 star reviews unless I'm in love with a place. Richies tho is old school dive with a new school feel.I work nights and I come here for breakfast/dinner a few times a week on my way home in the morning.It's an Italian owned dive that the brothers sister and even mother operate. All food is made from scratch and is the way Chicago Italian food should be done.This is a real bar so don't come here unless you're prepared to chill with regulars and aren't offended by anything.I'm old as dirt and I'm glad there is still an old school establishment I can go to.
Great food! We ate there the night before we flew out to Mexico and we ended up staying another night in Chicago after our flight back and went there to eat again. Their menu is huge, something for just about anything you have a hankering for. If you looking for good food and friendly staff, I strongly recommend.
Found this place on our way back from the airport and everything was delicious! The pizza was amazing, I had a wrap and it was stuffed so full and was huge. The appetizers of calamari and mozzarella sticks we're great also. Definitely will remember this restaurant for next in the area.
