Absolutely horrendous experience. Would never go back. They kept on screaming out 30 to 40 minute Wait on food. Then I finally said something and they said that they didn't even have my ticket. Then they said they'd make it right away but they didn't have the right bread that is advertised for the sandwich. They also lost my ticket for my coffee so that took 25 minutes to get. So then I decided to get a refund and they didn't even offer any gesture of good faith. Keep in mind that this was for one sandwich and one coffee as a to-go order. The mysterious high marks this place receives are baffling. The interior is attractive with its high ceilings and various seating options, but waiting in line for over ten minutes just to order coffee is unacceptable. Despite having plenty of staff, only one person takes orders, leading to long waits and often a depleted baked goods cabinet. The final straw was being given the wrong pastry and not even receiving an apology when trying to exchange it. I stopped by to purchase a bag of coffee beans (not ground) to have at home. I can only comment on the coffee, and it was amazing! The bag of beans was excellent, with a bright and flavorful taste that I really enjoyed. It made a delicious cup of coffee using my Aeropress at home. I will definitely return for more beans and am interested in trying the food as well, as the kitchen seemed very knowledgeable. Just a heads up, you get a free 8 oz. coffee when you purchase a bag of beans.
We enjoyed dark roasted coffee and scones in the while waiting for vendors to finish setting up at the Farmers Mkt. Spouse had a Ginger Lemon scone which she described as Fantabulous. I had a blueberry scone. I liked the almost biscuit like texture but had a difficult time sensing any blueberry flavor from the tiny, dried up berries that they used. The coffee was so good that we bought a bag of beans on the way out. We very rarely do that.

Experience the essence of autumn in Maine even during the summer by trying a fall-themed drink at this restaurant. I requested a fall flavor drink and the barista added maple syrup to my gingerbread latte, creating one of the best cups of coffee I have ever had. This will definitely become a must-stop for me every year during my Maine vacation. I only wish I could have this coffee shop in my own hometown. Absolutely amazing!
We visited Rock City Cafe a few times while on vacation and absolutely loved it. The coffee was one of the best we’ve ever had. We even purchased some of their espresso beans to use in our home machine. The staff were all very friendly. There’s also a lovely book store in the back.
Delicious coffee and food!!! Busy place at 10am but definitely worth the wait. Gingerbread iced latte was incredible and hubby's maple coffee was yummy! Bit on the pricey side but absolutely worth the price.
The best coffee I’ve ever had! The staff were extremely kind. We also ordered some of their breakfast burritos and they were delicious too! Will definitely be back next time we are in the area!

Extremely friendly and welcoming staff. The Cortado was delicious, and their take on a b.l.t sandwich was a great little lunch. Not over priced.
