I recently enjoyed a delicious late lunch at Roots Natural Kitchen, located at 10 E. 15th Ave near the OSU campus. The location holds special significance for me as I used to work nearby from 1979 to 2000. The restaurant now occupies the space where a former Cord Camera business once stood, near the former Kinko's copy center. Despite the changes in the area, landmarks like Sullivant Hall and Mershon Auditorium remain constant, helping me feel oriented while enjoying my meal at Roots Natural Kitchen. I had pre-selected my meal from their menu online, which streamlined my ordering process at the counter. I opted for the El Jefe signature bowl with brown rice, kale, black beans, baked red pepp...
It's pretty pricey to be honest, but it's also pretty good. For example, my bowl here cost around $12 but I can get a bowl with more food in it at a place like Bibibop for around $8-9. It's probably not a big deal for most, but for college students, that extra amount can add up. The ingredients were all very high quality though and the chicken was really delicious! I'm definitely looking forward to coming back!
really solid place for salad or pastry bowls. I had an salate with huh, and it was all very good very fresh ingredients. they limit the custom salat to 5 toppings, then it is an additional 50 cent per topping, which is not so absurd given the cost and quality. it is a good healthy diet, the type of place to which they would take their parents. it also has a beautiful outside area.
I brought my two young kids to this restaurant because they enjoy rice and I thought it would be a good choice. The server was very helpful and knew exactly how to navigate the menu for us. They recommended children's bowls for my kids, which turned out to be a great choice. My own bowl was delicious as well, especially the BBQ tofu. Overall, I was very pleased with the meal. Tried this place for the first time and I had to come back again the next day, it was that good. You can make your own or go with a preselected option. I had the el jefe bowl with BBQ tofu and it was delicious. All the ingredients were incredibly fresh and they have a nice variety of choices. This place will be a new staple for me. The staff was also very warm and welcoming!
Really nice place and I could tell they were trying hard as new employees. Unfortunately the chicken in my bowl was dry and hard like it had been cooked at the start of the day and left in the steam tray. I would love to come back and try again once they are getting more business and things aren't sitting as long!
I used to eat Roots all the time when I lived in Charlottesville, VA so I was super excited to see that they opened a location in Columbus. The food was just as delicious as I remember, and I’m so happy that they chose to open a spot in C-bus. The food is fresh and the portion sizes are large. Highly recommend!
I tried this restaurant for the first time during my lunch break today and had the El Jefe bowl. I was very impressed! I absolutely loved it! The combination of ingredients was refreshing and it tasted delicious. I will definitely be returning! Réservez une table maintenant
