We bought a voucher for afternoon tea for £15 for the Ropeworks&kitchen through Living social but trying to get through to book is impossible we rang about 20 times and sent emails but never a reply.in the end we phoned the hotel it is part of and booked that way but the receptionist gave us another email address to confirm we emailed again and still no reply.When we got to the restaurant it took ages for anyone to come to us ut after that we were seated and within 15 minutes a lovely afternoon tea was served many sandwiches and many small cakes.We will come back in the future.
We dined there at the weekend a table for four. The food was very poor all round and we let the waitress know. She was polite and at least made an attempt to explain why one of the dishes did not taste very nice. However there was no offer of an alternative. The food looked like it was not prepared with care and frankly my beef noodle was small in portion size, over salted. The ice cream that I had was tasteless.
Had tea and breakfast here when staying at the hotel and both meals were really nice. Evening snacks we had for our main meal was lovely and the service was great Breakfast was nice but very much on the pricey side at £18 each but it’s filling. I’d say the ginos breakfast at the innside tops it though. Worth it if your nearby
We stayed at the hotel and decided to eat here for convenience, the food was amazing, freshly made, really wholesome food, atmosphere was lovely. The only downside is the lack of staff, 2 were running the bar and restaurant by themselves which seemed like madness, took ages to get the bill. Worth going for the food though!

We had acternoon tea here last week which was purchased as a voucher pre covid which they very kindly honoured. Food was nice, prosecco was generous (it was bottomless) and when they found out it was our daughter's birthday the next day they brought her over a lovely mocktail. The staff were really lovely and very helpful.
Came here with a friend. We had ordered the Groupon voucher for the 3 course meal plus glass of Prosecco. It was fantastic value for money. The food was amazing the staff all really helpful and friendly. We were made to feel really welcome. We enjoyed it so much my friend is returning with her other half. 10 out of 10
Modern restaurant at bottom floor of hotel, our party of 4 called in for afternoon tea. We were treated by friendly member of staff and shown to a tale distanced from other dinners, prompt service ordering our food and drinks. Cakes and sandwiches were well presented and freshly made, very enjoyable.
We had breakfast in Ropewalks and it was fine. I would say very good. But we went there for an evening drink and the staff was not very friendly and we did not get what we wanted .. so it was not very pleasant

Stayed in the hotel and went for a few drinks and food. Food was quick and tasted very good. Bar man was lovely and quick. Enjoyed the atmosphere. Service overalls was very good
Sfternoon tea. Was worst I've ever had dry stale sandwiches rubbery cheese fatty ham. Waste of £30 through groupon. Never again. Waiter just laughed when i said it was awful.
