I haven't been here since before Covid but the portion sizes are soo much smaller than before. Am I trippin? Is this what inflation looks like. A breast and a waffle for practically 20$ you're kidding right? A drink $7? That's like Disney prices right there. I remember when the waffle was overflowing a little compared to the size of the plate and the chicken breast was massive. Don't get me wrong it was still a lot of meat but I don't think one waffle and one chicken was worth $20. Sad. As for the ambiance, it's nice seeing all the photos of the celebrities who've eaten there. Not much seating so it probably gets packed. We went early for breakfast around 9ish on a Monday. I haven't been to this location in years, but happened to get a period during lunch where it wasn't. super busy.. it's exactly how I remember it and it's still pretty spacious and not very crowded on the weekdays but I can't speak for the weekend. I miss the days when they still had the Obama special but because of copyright they had to make the name generic. Sarah was very quick and friendly. I could barely finish the two pancake and two dark meat plate. It was absolutely delicious and a perfect match of sweet and savory flavors. This place never answers the phone, so you can't do a phone order even if you call 10 times. Ok so I drive there and want to order to go: The staff has the energy and attitude that they don't want to be there and treat you like you gave them the Mofkn job application yourself. I swear, I want to order food and I feel like I just asked for a ride to the airport. Only Roscoe's location with this horrible attitude and the work ethic of a juvenile hall. Dare I say this is a legendary OG Chicken and Waffles joint before Chicken and Waffles became popular. Many have tried to mimic this place but this is still the best IMHO. I think the only place that comes close is Yardbird. For the Chicken alone I think the Broasted Chicken at the Two Sisters might have slight edgy compared to Roscoe's. We usually get the country boy and share with a couple drumsticks on the side, and some scrambled eggs with cheese and onion. They make the waffle very thin here just the way I like it and kinda reminds me of the Waffle house. We like this location in Pasadena because the parking is easy, food is legit, it's right off the freeway.

Roscoe's never disappoints! The food is always delicious, solidifying its status as a classic staple in LA. Every visit feels like a treat, with dishes that always hit the mark. The workers at Roscoe's are constantly busy, yet they manage to be both efficient and incredibly nice. Their dedication and friendly demeanor make each visit enjoyable, no matter how bustling the restaurant gets. I'm thrilled to have a Roscoe's nearby. It's a reliable go-to for good food and excellent service.
This is my go-to location since it is more convenient. There is parking at the back and the restrooms are clean. I always order the same dish, Country Boy Special (aka Obama's Special) 3 wings and 2 waffles. I like to add whipped cream for my waffles. The Reaper hot sauce is my favorite to pair with the fried wings (1 wing drum and flat). We also order the Scoes (added charge for replacing one piece with another breast). Great coffee/hot chocolate with refills.
SUNDAY 6-23-2024 LOCATION CLOSING Awful Service! No wonder they're Shutting down this Location! Took 20 minutes to bring us the Check. We tried flagging down waitresses and they finally brought us the Bill after 20 minutes! The worst part was, the restaurant was only 20% occupied and not busy at all. Bunch of LAZY People deserve to be out of a job! Bad Customer Service is a Reflection of Bad Management! Good Riddance!
Worst service imaginable. Wasn't even a full house and we waited an hour and a half for our food. Waiter seemed annoyed with our presence and had no sympathy or explanation for the outrageous delay. I just read that they're closing this location, so I guess they stopped caring. Food was mediocre. It was hot as balls in there for good measure. Made me never want to go to a Roscoe's again. Deserves 0 stars.

A little tightening up and rebranding would do this place wonders. Still serving the same juicy crunchy fried chicken and playing 90s hip hop and R&B jams. Pro tips: bring cash and check your order.
