Basically, this is a coffee shop with a few great advantages.Primarily, the coffee suits my taste perfectly. When I inquired why it was so good, the answer provided was simple - the beans are air-roasted! My experience is that coffee in many other places is bitter. Now I know why.A friend and I visit there weekly for lunch. He is lactose-intolerant and so cannot eat mayo, cheese, or butter. The staff here go out of their way to accommodate him. Today for lunch, I had what must be one of the best deals in town. A large salad (and I mean large) for just $6.25 with tax. I wanted to go for a coffee date with my wife, and this place is in the neighbourhood so we thought we'd give it a try. For me, coffee is coffee and theirs didn't particularly stand out one way or the other. If I had a criticism, it would be that both my drip coffee and my wife's latte could have been hotter.What I really liked was the atmosphere. Most coffee places, particularly that famous Seattle-based one, have tables crammed in, but here there was enough room between that you didn't feel the people next to you were part of your group. Went to this place for lunch and it was evident they don't have a clue about food. I had the worst sandwich ever. Ordered a ham and cheese croissant which they served with sprouts and put on the pannini press-gross. The soup was outrageously expensive as were many of their food items. All of their baking comes pre-wrapped in plastic and they can't even be bothered to unwrap it and put it on a plate...again expensive and brought in from somewhere else. The cookie was stale. The coffee tasted weak and the service is unfriendly. Sad because it's such a nice location.
This adorable café is conveniently located next to a spacious park with a playground. They offer a selection of snacks, sandwiches, and have a friendly staff. The coffee is delicious and the service is very welcoming. It's situated in a mostly residential neighborhood with not much else nearby. I've been wanting to try this place for a while, and I will definitely be back. It's perfect for those times when you find yourself in a part of town without a café nearby. These guys have you covered in this neighborhood.
The Roundhouse Cafe, is much more than just a coffee shop. It's a gathering place for the local community. As a student I study here all the time. I could easily study at home, or at school but I come to the cafe because I love the atmosphere. It's like being surrounded by friends, the owners Richard and Kelly make me feel special every time. Try it out, you'll get more than just a coffee or a bite to eat!
This little cafe is tucked just outside Mayfair and Home Sense shopping areas. It is always clean and the staff are very friendly. I enjoy using the patio on warmer days. The coffee is really good and I have had some good small meals and parties there too. Its definitely worth a visit.
