I recently visited this restaurant in Springfield, which is new since my last visit 20 years ago. The barbecue here is absolutely amazing. The servers are friendly, the menu is easy to understand, and the portions are generous. I ordered a small chili for lunch and it was fantastic. I appreciated being able to serve myself pickles and barbecue sauce. The decor, including a map on the wall and a focus on supporting veterans, added to the overall positive experience.
We stopped by to visit Rudy's and enjoyed the atmosphere and service. The staff were nice. I enjoyed the country-style ambiance and the map showing where people were from that visited. We both had the brisket. It had good flavor and the sides were pretty good. However, the mac-n-cheese was very greasy and unfortunately our food came out lukewarm/almost room temperature. This is the primary reason I took a star off.
Great food, nice family establishment. The squad really liked the Mac and cheese side. I like the collard greens and the sweet potato casserole. They have a wide assortment of meats. The brisket is good, the pulled pork is good, the pulled chicken is good. The atmosphere is great. There's a map with pins of places where people have come from. They have a bunch of cool signs and quotes on the walls.
We stopped by this restaurant while out looking for a house and we're so glad we did! We were really hungry but surprisingly were only able to eat half of our portions! We both ordered the brisket combo with sides and it was delicious! Thank you for starting our year off with a fantastic lunch! We will definitely be back next time we are in town! This midwestern BBQ joint delivered everything we expected. The BBQ was delicious, accompanied by creative sides like scalloped corn and ham 'n beans. The counter service was friendly and efficient. We would definitely make a point to stop here again on our next journey through town.
The brisket was cold and the pulled pork was also not up to standard. I had to ask twice about the status of the hush puppies, but they forgot about them completely. In the end, they ended up refunding my money.
The pull pork was very good, and the smoke wasn't overwhelming. I loved the green beans and potato salad as well. Everything was fresh and well seasoned.

Prices are high. Had a lot of big chunks of fat in our meat. Buns were not fresh, kind of hard.
