To anyone visitng Sonoma Valley: STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESTAURANT Walked in for late lunch and was greeted with rude service from the start. Walked through the door and was already given sass by the hostess/waitress for no apparent reason. The restaurant was near empty so we politely asked for a table for 7. Not only did they struggle to come up with a configuration for 7 in an EMPTY restaurant, we tried to provide helpful suggestions only to be spoken back to with a “I really dont know what will make you all happy”. Keep in mind our party stood quietly as we watched them try to move tables and provided suggestions to the staff in calm voices. This may have been the only place in Sonoma Valley...
I have been coming to Salt Stone for over 7 years it’s always been a relaxed wine country experience to get very simple food drink. It was never very good but it was convenient. Today I went ordered a Hendricks martini. It arrived with too much olive juice and stuffed blu cheese olive’s that were covered inside out making the whole classic cocktail, inedible not pretty. Truly a weird cocktail. Sent it back the sun-glassed waiter had a meltdown stormed off. I will not go back…if this is how one treat’s loyal customer’s, it's not worth $17.50. for a overpriced simple cocktail. Also $20 for a cold, flavorless BURGER fries. The whole experience left a BAD taste in my mouth!!
Out of 3 days of visiting Sonoma Valley, this was our favorite meal. We ordered baked oysters, ribeye, and linguini w/ clams. The food is incredibly flavorful and well done. The pond area is really lovely in the late evening. Warm summers mean no heater needed although they did have seating with heaters if you need. Restaurant is laid back, not stuffy what so ever. Servers are kind and attentive. We regret not coming here sooner but will be back. 10/10!
Service tried but didn’t cut it. Entres being served and soiled dishes still on the table. Childs hamburger were burnt and my grandchildren left hungry. Flies all over. Wine came from a keg and not a bottle we could see. We didn’t finish the wine so what was left went home in a plastic glass. We will not return. It was my birthday with family visiting from far. My husband was embarrassed.
