good Tandoori food. I decided to try samrat after positive reviews. the fact that it had a Tandoori oven to fill me with anticipation. I enjoyed the Indian decoration, with individual stands. I tried the murghi masala and tarka dhal together with pure rice and a naan. Although tasty, the color of the murghi masala was eating me a little quenched, but the tarka dhal and naan were both excellent the waiters were very attentive, but almost a little desperate to ensure my return. the television was also quite loud in the background, so I asked her to turn it out what they did for the sake. I look forward to tasting more of their beautiful dishes.

The Rat. There are many purveyors of fine curried food-stuffs in Tooting, indeed there are literally hundreds within London. However, the Samrat is probably the finest of them all. The decor is lush, the staff polite and the bhangra music is soothing. Possibly the finest dishes on the menu are the CTM (Chicken Tikka Masala) and the Chef's Special Butterrr Chicken. All main dishes can be ordered with Long-Grain Potato Rice if standard Pilau Rice is not to your liking. Prices are reasonable considering the high quality of the food Highly recommended.

Hadn’t been for a few years having moved away from the area, however the fantastic service and excellent food still remain. Visited with 3 other friends on a cold Wednesday evening. Great selection of dishes, including the fiery “naga aroma” dish which was enjoyed by one of our group. Fresh and delicious naans plus great fluffy rice. The service is also superb. Will be sure not to leave it as long before returning.

We usually go to another curry restaurant in Tooting but on this occasion, they had no tables available so a family friend recommended Samrat's. It turned out to be a solid recommendation and we enjoyed a very nice meal. The service is the real strong point of Samrat's with a big smile and very accommodating. The two ladies in our group even received a rose at the end of the meal! We'll definitely be back.

I was born bred in Tooting the SAMRAT was just literally just round the corner so we were frequent visitors, the service was always on point either in person, on the phone or eating in the restaurant so was the food, I moved away 8 years ago I really miss getting a curry from here the ones up here in the shire just don’t cut it!

Very disappointed with our takeaway tonight after reading such good review. Butter chicken was so oily and way too sweet. It was inedible . Our other oil soaked meat and fish curry has more big chucks of onions and peppers with seeds still on in it than actual meat. £30 worth of food goes down the food waste bin . Never again.

There are booths so you can have a bit of privacy for your table. Good choice of food and starters . Nice atmosphere. Have been before and really liked it. This is one of our local restaurants and its great to see it is still good .

If you like your curry houses frozen in 1980-90's nostalgia then Samrat is for you. There's nothing wrong with it and I enjoy my visits. But it's, well, jaded. Food is good, service is excellent, it's now BYOB. I like it.

I am a life long curry fan and wherever I go I seek out the local restaurants. Yesterday, I ordered a lamb curry and vegetable Thali. It was sensational and of authentic flavours. I would highly recommend the food here.

Read the comments and went in. Very friendly Staf, beer and appetizers op table in seconds. And it started tasty. Got the lamb shank which were one of the best I ever had.
