During a work trip. I stayed in the Hilton opposite this pub and hearing it was the oldest in the city I decided to stop in. The staff were great and very helpful in recommending craft beers they had on tap. The food was also very good and I really enjoyed the steak and ale pie with chips. If you like ales and decent pub food, this is the place. I’ll definitely be back if I’m in Bath.
after a terrible experience in a pub next door went great here. packed with lots of atmosphere and many screens that show the rugby, no matter where they were standing, they met a good prospect. the staff were fed by their feet, but helpful, friendly and help create a great atmosphere
Last minute luncheon during Christmas Market visit, very pleased able to get a table! Food good, service surprisingly fast, menu intact with some seasonal additions. Pleasant surprise over the Holidays, as all other GKs I’ve been to recently seemed to have become rubbish. Thanks!
Thank you Dale, fantastic place, pity we found it on the last day otherwise we would definitely have returned. Level Head beer brilliant and the atmosphere the same. Loved the library side where we sat. This place is a must for a drink or two and food. Thanks to all Réservez une table maintenant
Went here for lunch. Ordered at 12 noon, couldn’t order before this time. Food finally arrived an hour later. If you want speedy service don’t come here. Staff attitude was really unhelpful asking what do they expect to do about it. Terrible place.
large pub with central bar and four seats. one area has a large screen for sport, many other tvs throughout. good drink selection and service. atmosphere friendly and understand the oldest pub in bath. many interesting pictures and information
The oldest pub in Bath. A good sized pub with warm and welcoming atmosphere. Staff are happy and friendly, sport is shown on numerous tvs, yet there is still a lot of character about the pub. Worth popping your head for a pint or two.
Nice pub but the food was very poor. Steak sandwiches burnt ciabattas burnt wilted salad. Rare steak also over cooked. Réservez une table maintenant
