Such a clean environment, beautiful exterior, amazing server named Emily that was incredibly attentive to me and paid close attention to what I had wanted and offered me the best possible service she could as well as advice on what to order. The food was absolutely top tier, what she recommended to order for a pasta dish was truffle cavatelli and it was absolutely delicious from the creaminess of the cream to the texture and finely cut pasta and the Parmesan and mushrooms that added that savory taste to my taste buds was spectacular, it really had many layers of taste to it. Been here a few times over the years. At first it was great but lately the pizza is constantly uncooked. I call it soggy soupy pizza now cuz that's what you get, soup on saugy dough...and on a Mona Lisa pizza?! I can only imagine if you had greasy toppings like pepperoni. Ordered pickup one time, and it wasn't even edible. That was my last time going.The servers are always friendly, but the speed of service has always been horrible here. I had been to this restaurant before the world shut down and enjoyed the wood fired pizzas. However, I went back in September for a fundraiser I had seen online for McMaster children's hospital neonatal unit. My partner and I went for the first lunch serving (they had closed down the restaurant for this event and had 4 seatings). All of the servers/staff were giving their tips to the fundraiser and I am just so impressed that the owners did this for such a good cause. For the first time we were disappointed with our meal at Sasso. We shared the calamari and it was delicious as usual but a very small portion for the price.We each ordered a pizza, 2 different kinds. His had anchovies but you couldn't taste or see them.Both were barely warm so we politely asked for them to go in a little longer. They came back quickly but still weren't hot. I didn't want to ask again so we ate some then took the rest home.
