Had some business on a Wednesday night in West End last week so thought we would grab a meal at one of the many (51) eating places on offer, did the walk around and decided on Swasadee Thai Restaurant on Melbourne street. Very pleasant place to eat, service was friendly and prompt, plenty of seating indoors and out on the wide footpaths enabling a bit of people watching (which in West End can be a great thing), lots of choices on the menu and prices were very good. I chose the Chicken Larb (which is not on all Thai menus so when it is I order it as it's one of my favourites) and my husband chose the Sweet Chili Fish, we also ordered jasmine rice to share. We decided to visit this restaurant on a whim, and it turned out to be a great decision. The Massaman curry is always a must-have for me, and theirs did not disappoint. In fact, all the dishes we tried were fresh, delicious, and served in generous portions. The only downside was that the food took a little longer to arrive, but it wasn't a major issue. They do charge a $5 corkage fee for bringing your own alcohol, but they also have a great selection of drinks available. Overall, we recommend giving this restaurant a try.

The soup I ordered was delicious, but my main course took a while to come out and was lukewarm when it did. The white wine, however, was served at the right temperature.
