Weinstube Schnitzelbank

after a long journey (cornwall to harwich, then hoek van holland to heidelberg) we found ourselves in the night of our arrival in the schnitzelbank. the tiny restaurant / bar was crowded and loud, but very friendly with excellent eating, wein and beer. there were no tables for two, but that was divided in order and contributed to the atmosphere. about average for Heidelberg.If you want to eat and drink the true spirit of heidelberg, this is the right place for them.

Although the restaurant feels very authentic, in the schnitzelbank eats a tourist crowd, at least on a summer evening in august. it takes this place partly the charm, but on the other hand there is a good reason to eat here: eating is delicious. they do not expect a raised kitchen, but if they have fun on decent simple carvings, etc., they must go here. but also the brotsuppe and the teller with münsterkäse are worth mentioning! also good weep!

small but fine could be titled the locality in the 1st stage. we have eaten local foods like maul bags or drunken. it tasted us well. because the restaurant is quite small it can happen that you sit on a table with strangers. but there are interesting discussions, especially if you have the luck with locals. must be booked!

it was a tiny restaurant that looks old and cozy. quite full and very popular. we had luck and found a place in the small terrace. haxen schweinshaxe was successfully prepared and hot and tasty served 5 years ago. the service was fast and in order. can definitely say that this place deserves its rank in heidelberg. we went to the schnitzelbank, excited in view of the prospect of a real German experience. while the device is quite authentic, we found the service and the carving only in order, even with hearty portions. better carving we found in the main road to other meals.

Our meal here was amazing! The staff was very knowledgeable about what was safe on the menu. Generous portions and wine pours! My celiac son ate well and had no problems whatsoever afterwards.

eating is excellent with exotic flavor combinations. the waiters take time to help you with the menu and I even saw it when taking pictures. they had a wide smile all the time.

Waiter told me immediately that it's not safe if you have a severe allergy as the kitchen is very small. Hence, would not recommend for celiacs, only gluten sensitive people. Réservez une table maintenant

The staff was very friendly and explained what was gluten free. I had the steak and fried potatoes. Other options as well. Cozy place.

simple kitchen of good quality. super nice reception! good white wines. small, typical and warm room.
