The School House makes all of it's food fresh on site (except the onion rings). The fried food was served hot and had good flavour and crunch. The coleslaw is creamy and a little bit sweet. At first it appears quite expensive but the portions are so large you can easily split a 2 fish order between two adults. There is plenty of room to eat in. The atmosphere is very typical of a small town fish and chip shop with kitschy water-related knick knacks and plastic table clothes. The owner/operator is very friendly and will take pick up orders in advance to have ready at a specified time - convenient on your way to the cottage. Try the coconut cream pie!

We made a trip to Port Severn the other night to try the School House (our 1st time) fish and chips. Turned out to be a great decision. We were greeted warmly and served promptly. I had the battered (fresh) Pickerel, with fresh-cut fries, a crunchy fresh coleslaw and a really nice home-made Tartar Sauce. The fish was very tasty and the batter was light - just right. For desert, we shared a slice of home-made strawberry-rhubarb pie - amazing! The fresh fruit taste with the flaky pastry was just right - terrific flavour! Wow!These folks really care about the food they serve, and it shows. It was a great meal and we'll be back for sure!

A good find on the way into the village. Good area for parking. Walking into the restaurant you can already taste the fish. It is fresh, hot. There is lots of choice, halibut, cod, pickerel .. they have home made pies, you can even buy a whole pie.The restaurant is old style seating. The portions are large so bring a good appetite.Worth a revisit.

The waitress was great. We waited more than one hour for the meals. The food was quite average, nothing really good. Clearly overpriced. The owner offered free onion rings so we didn’t leave. It was cold.
