Sea Salt sushi and seafood cafe

We needed a quick, inexpensive and easy meal after seeing a movie at Nova on a very warm night and Sea Salt was a good choice. Staff were friendly and helpful and there were inside and outside eating options - we chose outside because it was quite busy and noisy inside. Service was prompt (considering it was busy) and the food reasonably priced. Its like a take away place but with better quality and more upmarket options. Calamari tacos was a good meal - tasty, visually appealing and good sized serves. The crumbed seafood platter looked less appealing (chips were quite yellowish). Had plans for an Italian lunch in Lygon Street, (as you do), however having looked in the window and at the diners in the street at Sea Salt, we quickly changed our minds - and it was an excellent decision. Beautiful fresh sushi (which we walked past), wonderful choice of fresh fish cooked any / every way and delicious fresh salads and other options to accompany it, as well a good range of beverages to match - we were in fish heaven! Had the salt and pepper calamari to start, followed by whiting and flathead (with fries) and a deliciously fresh garden salad.

Was having craving for seafood during my visit to Melbourne and found the restaurant. Food served was fresh and great presentation. Price was reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food served. The sashimi and oysters were great and especially when it is paired with the wine they served. The staff were attentive and made great recommendation to the choice of food both for the adults and the children.

I couldn't eat here enough on a recent Melbourne stay and i would have eaten here more if it wasn't for meeting friends for dinner!!I absolutely loved the boa, the sushi & the barramundi grilled fish n chips was mouth watering, everything we had was super fresh and delish!!! I may need to move just to be close to Sea Salt lygon st, I dont know how I'm expected to be without this everyday!! Réservez une table maintenant

We came across this place on our trip on the hop on hop off bus when it stopped on lygon st. the platter is great, we had the grilled fish with calamari and prawns. It was good yo share. The fish was fresh and tender and the chips were perfectly made. Really enjoyed the lunch. The skewer is also good

I was told to check this place out by a friend and I was not dissappointed. My friend and I shared a meal as we wernt overall hungry, it was more than enough! Very big portion which is great value for money! The fish was delicious! Staff all very welcoming and smiley. Would definatly return here.

I enjoy Sea Salt on a regular basis. Its great for a quick and satisfying dinner prior to going to the movies at the nearby Nova Cinema. The food is fresh, simple well cooked seafood. The service is always prompt and friendly.

Decided to try this fish n' chip & sushi shop in Lygon Street, they service beer & wine which is great. Menu has plenty to choose from and you won't be disappointed. Staff are friendly, food was great and fresh. Réservez une table maintenant

I often go here while taking in a movie. The service is quick and meals fairly priced and tasty. I particularly enjoy the calamari pack with chips.
