once in a blue moon I have to get out for dinner. Of course. I enjoy the quiet time with myself and like to choose a restaurant that I was not before. as retired restaurant cook, I like to try places that are innovativ and make simple recipes exceptional. I had heard good dinge over second set bistro, but not yet there and decided to try this to my alone restaurant, enjoy dinner and read. I kept an open mind and didn't look at the menu before I left. the menu is small but exciting. I decided to skip a starter and have the stuff salad as an app and it was so good. I'm not sure I can explain how the aromen were both individually still connected to each other to make a light and taste dressing....
During a business meeting in Missoula, I had the chance to dine at this restaurant with some colleagues. I highly recommend this place. The food was excellent and a great value for the price. The portions were generous and I suggest trying the steak frites for a tender steak with well-cooked, simple sides. The service was exceptional, as they were able to accommodate our party of nine even though we had a reservation for six. While I would understand if they were unable to accommodate us on a busier night, they handled it with ease and were wonderful throughout. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with good food and good friends.
The atmosphere was nice, but the music playing was not what I expected in a high-end restaurant. It may appeal to younger customers, but it was not conducive to a relaxing dining experience or easy conversation. If the prices were lower, I might consider returning, but we felt we did not get our money's worth and will not be coming back. There are not many options for vegan, gluten-free, or dairy-free customers, although they did offer a substitution to accommodate me.
I am sad to hear that this restaurant is closing down. Fortunately, we were able to have one final meal there tonight. The food was delicious as usual and we liked trying some new dishes. We dined in for dinner and the price per person was between $50-100. The food received a rating of 5, service was at a 4, and the atmosphere was a 5. We had an amazing dinner! The Brussels sprouts and calamari were outstanding. A group of 5 of us then shared two ribeye steaks and 2 salads. It was the perfect amount of food, and the ribeye was cooked perfectly. Our server Katherine took care of everything flawlessly. Thank you for a memorable meal.
