I took my girlfriend here for her birthday, as she loves crab. We took up a special offer for shark fin soup and some abalone to start which was both beautifully cooked and very tasty. We ordered a 1.2kg mud crab cooked in garlic, along with a serve of spatchcock and also a serve of asian vegetables. The mud crab was perfectly cooked and the best mud crab I have ever had. The spatchcock was also beautifully cooked but not necessarily what I expected flavour wise. The service was first class and they were very attentive. This restaurant is quite pricey so I would suggest checking the prices on the menu before deciding to eat here to avoid a big shock when the bill arrives. I had a few work co...

We went here for a family birthday dinner (Friday night) and were very disappointed with the $100 banquet that we had. We could have eaten three banquets and still been hungry! Suckling pig was about three thin slices of pork about the size of a fifty cent piece. The beef was thinly sliced about three or four slices about 2cm x 5 cm that came out in a plate about 60cm long. It was ridiculous! The abalone was just ok and the lobster was nice but a little rubbery. Fried rice was dry. Service was just ok and they obviously wanted us out at around 10.30pm ish as they were resetting all of the tables around us. We had others in our group that ordered off the menu. They enjoyed their meal but the...

Melbourne has so many excellent Chinese restaurants. Secret kitchen is good. Considering its size, it offers quite an intimate dining experience. Lunchtime Yum Cha has plenty of choices and all quite tasty. One of the problems is you don't know how much you're paying til the end and honestly, 80 bucks for two (with no alcohol) leaves an unsatisfied taste in your mouth. And the hair in my greens didn't seem to batter and eyelid (I still paid $16 for the dish)... I guess I didn't make enough fuss. They seem to be catering to the wealthy Asian population and the unsuspecting tourist (very convenient for theatre goers). It was fine for a one off, but there's just so many choices in Melbourne, I'...

My husband and i went for a nice friday night dinner together . After being seated we had to wait some time before any one came near us again to bring Menu's . We finally got the drinks Menu and waited ages again to order a bottle of wine. We finally got someone to take our food order but in doing so asked questions re the Menu and the waiting staff had very little idea about the Menu and had to get other staff it assist . the service was very slow , we had to pour our own wine and for the price of the food we found it very ordinary and bland. Lovely food but quite disorganised and rude. We booked a table a month in advance, queued for 30 minutes with two elder ladies, people shoved us, a chaotic snenario and the 'general manager' says she gave our table away. It was really infuriating. We had to walk down the rain and cancelled. Birthday celebration thanks to the awful service. Make sure you know how to yield, shove and elbow to get to the booking desk and be firm because this lady is very rude. The food had been great in the past though. Never again.

We were looking for a restaurant in Chinatown after a show and found this before we got to Chinatown, ( just across the road).Very large and clean with good service. Had chicken and sweet corn soup each at @$10. One main at about $30 , some rice, two beers and a coke for a total of $96. Yes it was expensive but we just wanted to enjoy the meal and the service as very good. You can spend less in Chinatown proper but if you just want a nice night then this restaurant will satisfy

We had attentive service and the food was good, except for my soup. It was meant to be hot and sour and it tasted and looked like dish water. There was no problem and was not charged for it. The hot pot had the most amazing massive prawns in it and the flavour was nice but not outstanding.

Hides the rule of minimum spend $25 per person and then shames people when they leave without ordering. I'm don't agree to this contract so I'm opting to leave. Nothing wrong with that. Go here if you want a bad time Réservez une table maintenant

Went in to have dinner on Saturday night. Prices way too expensive. We were a party of 5. Ordered chinese tea (one pot), but some of the party then wanted to leave. Went to pay for the one pot of tea. $20
