I went to dinner here with my partner and the food was amazing, unique, and it was authentic Japanese food. The couple who owns the restaurant are from Japan and incorporate food and drinks from their hometown there. We got the sushi platter prix fixe menu and also had the sake pairing. The meals in the sushi platter were more than delicious and was unlike any sushi I’ve ever had before. They were also super helpful and accommodating as they were able to make their food gluten free and it was safe for someone like me with Celiac Disease to eat! Seiji 's Ohana Have been hesitant in sharing our experiences at Seiji 's Sushi. Not because of anything but my interest in keeping this wonderful place to myself. However, after reading everyone else 's reviews it is apparent that my secret is already out. Wonderful food in a small, intimate space, one feels like you have been lucky enough to score an invite to Seiji and Chie 's home. Food is wonderful. We always order the Omakase and last time added the Sake pairing. Seiji and Chie are wonderful hosts. We have met so many interesting locals and travelers. Our visits to Kona begin and end with dinner with Seiji and Chie. Ohana. Thank you.
I have been an aficionado of Japanese cuisine for decades and have eaten at some great restaurants and eaten a lot of what the country has to offer but our meal tonight at Seiji Sushi was exceptional. All four members of our party opted to partake in their Omakaze “Chef’s choice” offering and it was both delicious and memorable, one of the best we have ever had. The reservations-only, ten seat restaurant is owned by what we assumed is a husband and wife team and they excel at being both attentive hosts and skilled professionals. This was a wonderful experience that we will always remember.
An amazing sushi restaurant tucked away in Kona. The place is tiny (there are 12 chairs total in the place, I think), and reservations are required. There are some excellent rolls (Seiji's special is, of course, the best), and the sashimi and nigiri was fresh and amazing. The tempura was also very good. I can't think of anything to complain about. I booked our next dinner as we were leaving!

For our first time here we had high expectations with word from locals and reservation only. We ordered the omakase chefs choice multiple meal . let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint and EVERYTHING was so DELICIOUS !! Absolutely wonderful service and atmosphere. It gave my husband and I a very personal and high end feel . Thank you so much for having us
Just enjoyed a outstanding delicious meal with visiting mainland friends. It was my first time at Seiji's and we were very impressed and delighted with the quality, presentation and service provided. Highly recommend Seiji's for the best sushi in Kona.
