Our fav Shanghai restaurant closed, and our search for a new one brings us here. The rice cakes and seaweed fish was very very good. I so enjoyed lunch w/my friend that I brought my fam back for dinner the same week. The lion's head soup and green beans were delicious. We will be back to try more dishes. This mom pop establishment has friendly service but is limited in english. I suggest to take a look at the menu prior to arrival and then point to what you want on the english menu. A must try if you looking for good Shanghai!
This place is my preferable restaurant. Of all restaurants I know I like it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to visit this restaurant. everytime I feel like having a superb dinner, this is the place that comes straight to my mind. fresh and all kinds of food and a rich menu.well mannered crew, and nice atmosphere. Also important, the expence is affordable. I tell about this restaurant with no doubt.
Shanghai Gourmet is wonderful. Delicious, super flavorful xiao long bao probably the best I've had in the city as well as really tasty noodle dishes and scallion pancakes. It wasn't too crowded when I went so it's a great spot for a weekend brunch on the way to Golden Gate Park or wherever your day takes you!
Horrible service, waiting beside us for the payment when we are not even ready. And counting our money right in front of us. Rude!!! And also, the foods are not that good at all. Any shanghainese would not go there. Horrible service and just not so good on foods.

Fresh and authentic flavors. A true mom and Pop but you need to speak Chinese or be prepared to go there and point at what you want. I have my mom call in my orders: very friendly and accommodating also

My favorite Shanghainese restaurant. Luckily I live just 5 minutes away so I buy togo about once a week. Sometimes twice.
My family is from Shanghai and we live close by. This is the best Shanghainese in 626 hands down.
