My recent dining experience at Shapla was nothing short of disappointing and frankly humiliating. It is evident that this establishment places a higher priority on their takeaway business rather than providing a satisfactory in-house dining experience. Upon arrival, we were ushered to a seemingly good table, which gave us a glimmer of hope for the evening ahead. However, this hope quickly faded as we sat there, seemingly invisible to the restaurant staff. No member of the restaurant team displayed any interest in taking our order or even acknowledging our presence. Casual dining place, a bit tired and outdated, didn’t book, walked in on a Saturday night around 8pm ish greeting wasn’t great, though they soon found us a table. Young serving staff, were excellent and professional, Sideplates tiny, ridiculous to eat poppadoms, without spilling onto the table, the chutney selection Presented on a high rise stand, which was wobbly and impractical. Mango chutney sugary with red food colouring, lime chutney brown/ bland onion chutney fresh lovely though over filled bowls , which suggests they may be reused for other customers, or wasted) were removed should be left on the table for me to have finished if I chose. Take away from here was outstanding. Couldn't fault a single thing. The flavour is out of this world. We always have food from here to celebrate anything, with food this good I wish we could just celebrate Saturdays but don't think I could get away with that! Hand dinner here as a foursome whilst on holiday in wales. Excellent service and staff food was lovely and overall cost was very good, would not hesitate to return and recommend. Very bland food no flavour. The mild dishes were tasteless. Wouldn’t visit again as was very disappointed. The starters were the only thing.
