Since it was late, we opted for takeout, and we were thrilled with the quality and flavor of the battered fried fish and chips, the Po'boy shrimp sandwich, and the fried battered zucchini! Since it was late, we chose the take-out with the quality and taste of the broken fried fish chips, Po’boy Shrimp Sandwich and fried zucchini! The broken food is fried until the fish is cooked properly. The parts are a good size, bigger than we expected. The Cole Slav is delicious. The young woman who took our order answered all our questions about food. While we were waiting for food, she said we were welcome to try her soups; the 4 large soup boilers are themselves served. I had the grilled scallops and fries, and I was really impressed with the flavors. I would rate it just shy of 5 stars, primarily because I felt it could use a few more scallops. That being said, I would absolutely order it again! The tartar sauce that came with the dish was fantastic. As for the seafood pot, it was overflowing with shrimp and scallops—perhaps a bit too much; a smaller portion would have been perfect. The true standouts were the soups! The Shrimp Cheese soup was amazing, and the New England Clam Chowder was the best I've ever tasted—definitely a 10-star dish! I’ll be returning for lunch. Plus, the owner was very friendly!

This is a fantastic spot for fresh fish and seafood! I highly recommend the fish and chips, which come with two large fillets of cod, lightly battered, crispy steak fries, coleslaw, and tartar sauce. They also offer four different seafood soups, including the classic New England clam chowder and lobster bisque, along with two unique chef's creations. The hush puppies are excellent as well! They have daily specials throughout the week. The dining area is bright, clean, and airy, albeit quite simple, and bottled drinks are available.
Sheelen's Fish Market really knows how to handle the deep fryer, delivering perfectly cooked fish, hush puppies, and even Oreos. Their soup is always tasty, though the lobster bisque tends to sell out fast. I’m a fan of their warm Connecticut-style lobster rolls. They also serve raw fish, poke bowls, and tacos, but I haven’t tried everything on the menu yet. The service is speedy, and if you’re pressed for time, you can order ahead. Seating indoors is limited, but there are picnic tables available outside in the back.
This fish was simply amazing! It not only hit the spot for my fish and chips craving but also went beyond what I had anticipated. The portions were generous, and I found myself unable to finish even half of one piece before needing to take a break for my stomach—definitely not something I wanted to do! The coleslaw was exceptional, the best I've ever tasted along the Jersey shore. If you're looking for an authentic fish market with genuinely superb beer-battered fish, this place is a true treasure!
I had a very frustrating experience during my recent dining outing with my son. The staff misunderstood my order, which forced me to go back to the restaurant to resolve the issue. I asked for a refund, but instead, I was given a duplicate of the same receipt I had already received. It wasn't a refund; the staff member simply took a screenshot of her screen indicating that she had processed the refund. Overall, the outcome was far from what I was expecting.

The food is excellent, and there's a great variety to choose from. The staff is very attentive and responsive. While it's on the expensive side, I believe it’s worth the price.
