As for the atmosphere, it’s informal and primarily attracts college undergraduates looking to hang out or study. Unfortunately, the place was quite messy. I’m not sure why customers feel the need to leave it in such a state. There was no one cleaning up, so I had to tidy up a bit just to sit down—disposing of leftover bags of chips, wiping down the table, and removing some lettuce from under the table. Despite the untidiness, I ended up with a burning throat, likely due to strong-smelling cleaning chemicals being used (you know, that distinct smell of toilet cleaner). "Enjoyable atmosphere, excellent coffee (the coconut flavor is truly addictive!), and tasty, affordable breakfast sandwiches available all day. Orders are generally prepared quickly and accurately, though there are occasional hiccups. The Hadley and Shelburne locations maintain a high standard, while the Greenfield location struggles a bit with quality control on sandwiches and has a less appealing, smaller space. At the Hadley location, I had a positive experience when they promptly replaced a incorrectly made order and issued a refund for another. Their staff is also great at educating newcomers about different coffee drink types and can create a custom beverage based on your preferences."
This is a charming local chain that I highly recommend. The coffee is excellent, and the baked goods aren't overly sweet, which is great. Their sandwiches are a good portion and very flavorful, especially the real chicken sandwiches. The atmosphere is lovely, even though they don't have the same space as larger chains like Starbucks or Dunkin'. It's my favorite coffee spot and one of my top choices for lunch. I ordered a Greenfield sandwich with an extra egg and sausage instead of bacon. What I received was just a bagel with cream cheese. I don't understand how they could forget to add the sausage and two eggs to a breakfast sandwich. It was the exact same bagel I ordered, complete with the cream cheese normally included, so it's clear they simply overlooked the eggs and sausage. I wouldn't trust this place for breakfast—I left feeling disappointed, and it really put a damper on my morning.
A great place to sit and do research or hang out when it's not too busy, and a great place to get snacks or coffee otherwise. Be very careful about some of the iced drinks though if you can't have much sugar because some of them are not obviously sweet based on their description.
