I’m really sorry to say this, as this used to be my favorite sushi spot, but we won’t be returning. We ordered takeout, and while the presentation looked nice with the new lime green sauce drizzled on everything, the quality was very disappointing. The rolls contained soggy cucumber that resembled something quite unappealing, and the tuna was so overcooked that it tasted like canned tuna. The lime green sauce was unappetizing, and when we tried to call and express our concerns, no one answered. It feels like a waste to throw away $100 worth of sushi. Unfortunately, we won’t be back as the quality has significantly declined, and there’s no option for a refund.
I have been here several times and every time its the same. The food is good but the service is horrible. Dont buy mixed drinks here either... stick with soda or beer. They have multiple sushi chefs frantically making sushi rolls but somehow it still takes an hour to get your meal with very few people in the actual restaurant. They must be prioritizing to go orders over orders made in the restaurant. That is the only thing I can figure. In restaurant orders are always going to make them more money because people are ordering drinks, etc. while dinning in. I would think dining in guest would have service priority!
We have been to Shi a number of times but it had been awhile. We were sat quickly and our appetizer came out fast. It was very good. We ordered three rolls but they took what we thought was a long time. We were getting ready to leave as we were “hangry”. The manager came by and listened to our concerns and did right by us. We will continue to go to Shi as the food was very good and the consideration shown was very classy. Thanks for making what was turning out to be a negative experience into a positive one.
It was our first visit to the restaurant, and we chose to sit in the bar area. The menu offered a fantastic selection at reasonable prices. We started with the Jalapeño Crab Poppers, which were absolutely delicious! I ordered a Mai Tai to enjoy with my Tempura roll, while my friend had a Blue Moon paired with the Killer Shrimp roll. The atmosphere was lovely, and both our server and bartender were very pleasant. We will definitely be back! Réservez une table maintenant
I ordered the Vegas roll, and I was impressed! The salmon was of excellent quality, especially considering how far we are from the ocean. The avocado was incredibly fresh, and the cream cheese was perfectly melted. I placed my order online, and as soon as I walked in, I was warmly greeted and handed my food right away. It was a smooth and pleasant experience. I will definitely return for the great price and quality!
When our sushi rolls arrived, they were disappointing. The rice was undercooked and had a crunchy texture. It's disheartening because we have been dining here since the restaurant opened, and we have seen a noticeable decline in both quality and service. Unfortunately, we’ve decided not to return and will be heading to Nampa for our sushi experiences from now on.
If you really like sushi don't go there. Unagi on rattlesnake roll was about 1 mm thin, and only on half of the roll. No harmony in flavors and textures. Also I found an avocado stem in the roll. Good restaurants make a discount or a food compliment in such cases. If they want you to come back. They don't, we won't.
