One was Teriyaki Chicken and the other was Chilli Pork. Both were very tasty and really satisfying. The portions were great and so much variety in one box! <br/ <br/ Service: Staff were friendly and accommodating. We visited on a Saturday night and it was quite busy. I suggest reserving ahead of time on weekends. <br/ <br/ Price: The winter Dinner special was $12.80 for the bento box. For the portions and the variety in the box, it 's a great deal. Had a great experience at Shinsen Japanese Dining Bar with the kids. We had three of their lunch specials. Bento box portion was generous, sushi and sashimi was fresh and teriyaki chicken was nicely cooked. Given the difficulties businesses are having with staff shortages because of Covid/flu, I no longer expect all cafes and restaurants to run as smoothly as they did 3 years ago. Although they seemed a little light on floor staff, we were happy with the service we received today. We will definitely return to try the rest of their menu.
A relatively quiet Japanese shop further down from the middle of Ashfield, but a lovely one at that. The food was dainty and pretty, but tasted nice also. And the prices are great! I ordered the green salad roll and veggie sushi and they were so cute! Most vegan options when it comes to sushi are just avocado rolls and seaweed salad, but here they've put together a creative option which deserves a huge thumbs up.

Amazing food great value for money!! <br/ Boyfriend and I are regulars here and this is one of our favourite Jap places to dine. The food is always so delicious, especially the dragon roll!!<br/ <br/ However, somedays they seem very understaffed and service takes longer than usual.<br/
This place is great. Best value is in the 'winter special ' bentos, which seem to feature all year round. Service is good, price reasonable and food great. Been many times, never disappoints. Avoid the queues of the competition next door, Shinsen is .
awesome！cheap and delicious!!! My boyfriend badly love it. He can eat 2times a day ... after i moved to Ashfield, we have never been to other restaurants, because every time we passed here we want to have some japanese food !
We had the slow cooked pork belly, cheese scallop, wakame salad, sashimi boat, tuna tacos and horensai. Great stuff at good prices. Will be back another time to check out the other things on the menu.
